EA's PS3 ports are notoriously fucking dogshit. It doesn't surprise me that an early title like ME sadly doesn't run well :(

Wow... I loved Mirror's Edge enough to do a run without firing a gun. I guess if the controls didn't click with you it was understandable but for me... those controls felt very natural.

Big question is, did you do the slowdown effect at all? Combat and disarming is so much more effective when you slow things down. This also goes with platforming. In those precise wall jumping moments it helps to just slow time down.

I am sorry you didn't enjoy it, because that is definitely one of my personal favorites.

I don't much like the PS3 controller to begin with to be honest, and I never finmd it comfy trying to use all 4 shoulder buttons. I usually move my index finger bgetween L1 and L2 as needed, but the frequency of them both being used made it uncomfortable to me as I had to have both my index and middle finger on the buttons. I might have like the controls a little bit better on 360.

I used the slowdown effect, but didn't like doing so. In a game that's meant to make you feel deft and athletic and fast, it made the game crawl.

I gave the game multiple chances, and as I said I was more than half way through when I called it quits. I'm definitely done with this one, and really disappointed because I was excited to try it out.

Yeah the slowdown effect is necessary at crucial moments when precision is key like in disarming and doing precise wall jumps. Without it, the frustration you were experiencing is very real.

I always find that when I get frustrated with a game it usually is because I do not use all of the tools given to me and I end up playing the game wrong. Sometimes those features just don't feel natural to me and that is why I walk away. Seems to be the case for you and I understand and respect it.

I definitely died a -lot- in Mirror's Edge, but I didn't find it to be glitchy (I did play on PC though). My main problem was that I didn't always have quite the awareness of where my feet were supposed to be, given that it's first person and you can't see them

Combat controls were terrible, but, there's almost no time you really "have" to use them (much more convenient for the ending sequence, I think, if nothing else).

Yeah...that's weird. I also had a really good experience with the PS3 version of Mirror's Edge. :?

I played and beat it on both pc and xbox 360 and found no issues with it on either format.

Oh totally. I don't mean to say that because I didn't experience those problems that they didn't exist. It sucks a lot when games that people enjoy and love discourage others. I wish Mirror's Edge worked for you, but it didn't and that is okay! On to the next game!

Luckily I am on the next game, and it is good so far. I'm playing 3D Dot Game Heroes now.

Thanks Stark!
