If I buy the vanilla Destiny physical game, can I later download the expansions to add on to it, or would I have to actually re-buy the full new version of the game that includes those expansions?
I'm pretty used to how PC expansions work, so just trying to get this right.
Looks like you can either buy The Taken King expansion, which also comes with Expansion I and II or you can buy Destiny: The Collection which is all DLC through Rise of Iron.
Yeah, you can enjoy vanilla Destiny, and just purchase expansions as you see fit. From what I recall, you can grab vanilla physical disc cheap from Gamestop or Amazon, then opt in for the DLC, either $20 per expansion, or $60 for all the DLC to date.
Either way, play vanilla, the game isn't for everyone, and not worth the risk to save a few dollars and purchasing the full DLC bundle in bulk only to find you don't enjoy the game. I suggested the same to my sister, and she stopped playing after 5-10 hours, vs me with 150+ hours.
