Looks like you can either buy The Taken King expansion, which also comes with Expansion I and II or you can buy Destiny: The Collection which is all DLC through Rise of Iron.noiseredux wrote:question about Destiny:
If I buy the vanilla Destiny physical game, can I later download the expansions to add on to it, or would I have to actually re-buy the full new version of the game that includes those expansions?
I'm pretty used to how PC expansions work, so just trying to get this right.
Questions about Xbox One

I would still disagree with that statement. All it encourages is more codes to be purchased via credit card fraud. You save a couple of bucks by purchasing stolen wares, but your hands are clean, right?Melek-Ric wrote:For games maybe, but I think buying subscription cards for XBL and PSN are okay from sites like this.avrame wrote:The keys being valid and the site being 'legit' are two separate things. If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Yeah, you can enjoy vanilla Destiny, and just purchase expansions as you see fit. From what I recall, you can grab vanilla physical disc cheap from Gamestop or Amazon, then opt in for the DLC, either $20 per expansion, or $60 for all the DLC to date.Stark wrote:Looks like you can either buy The Taken King expansion, which also comes with Expansion I and II or you can buy Destiny: The Collection which is all DLC through Rise of Iron.noiseredux wrote:question about Destiny:

Either way, play vanilla, the game isn't for everyone, and not worth the risk to save a few dollars and purchasing the full DLC bundle in bulk only to find you don't enjoy the game. I suggested the same to my sister, and she stopped playing after 5-10 hours, vs me with 150+ hours.

Re: Questions about Xbox One
there's a pretty good chance that I'll be home in a snow storm tomorrow, so I stopped at Best Buy tonight and they had the version of Destiny with all the DLC on sale for $40, but I had $10 in rewards points, so $30 out of pocket.
The past few years I've played PSO during snow storms, and I had always seen Destiny as sort of a first person PSO, so I feel like this will be a good fit.

Re: Questions about Xbox One
alright so Destiny on a snow day? Good stuff.
I mean, I'm terrible because of the no keyboard and mouse thing. But very fun game. And I really like the art style of everything.
So far it's doing a great job of distracting me from the fact that the snow is going to keep coming down until 10pm and I have a lot of shoveling to do tonight.

Maybe consider a Cronus? I bought one to use my 360 wheel with Forza Horizon, and I know it supports cross platform adapting (use a PS4 controller on XB1, M&K on XB1, etc).

Re: Questions about Xbox One
that's sort of interesting. Have you tried it with kb/m on FPS games? Curious how well it works.avrame wrote:Maybe consider a Cronus? I bought one to use my 360 wheel with Forza Horizon, and I know it supports cross platform adapting (use a PS4 controller on XB1, M&K on XB1, etc).
Though it may not be ideal for my setup. For one thing, I'm playing my Xbox One games streamed to PC. So I'd either have to unplug my mouse and keyboard from my PC and switch em to this thing any time I wanted to play Destiny, or I'd have to have two sets of m/kb setup on the same desk which... I'm not a big fan of clutter.
Also I'm guessing that that thing makes anything THINK that it's got a real Xbox controller plugged in, right? I mean, I'm not sure if the Xbox App would recognize m/kb plugged into the Cronus as an Xbox controller or not since this is made to be plugged into a console. Right? I'd probably work...
But it is interesting. I am curious.

One step ahead of you
. Tried this a few months back since I wanted keyboard and mouse for BF1 on PS4. Works pretty well but the Mayflash is a little confusing to configure at first so I mostly played on default settings. Felt pretty natural and smooth in both Battlefield 1 and Titan Fall 2. Never got the profiles exactly where I wanted them though since you pretty much have to map the controls to the keyboard yourself. Some of the more expensive converters have profiles for each game that you can download from their sites/apps most of the time. Really need to go back and play with this a little more, but I got a little burnt out on BF1. USB switch works flawlessly though.
Mayflash Max Shooter ONE

Plugable USB 2.0 Switch for One-Button Swapping of USB Device/Hub Between Two Computers

Although I'm not 100% how you could configure it with streaming unless the XB1 is close by or there is some way to connect it through the PC to the streaming service.

good info Fragams, thanks!
I'm not sure I'd invest in this stuff or not, but I'm gonna add em to my Amazon wish list for future consideration.

I don't see it on the bestbuy website, but my local bestbuy (washington) carries Cronus, so you can try and return locally if you are luckynoiseredux wrote:good info Fragams, thanks!
