I got a Holy Diver NES repro in the charity auction 2-3 years ago... holy crap that's hard. Like... Don't get me wrong, I'm not great at Castlevania despite it being my favorite series, but I can at least get a couple stages in, and if I really focus I can beat it with a few continues. But Holy Diver is another level!

Still love it though. All the metal references are just too good.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

I do not have a very extensive list of NES games but here they are!

1 - California Games
2 - Dr. Mario
3 - Mach Rider
4 - Pinball
5 - Super Mario Bros. / Duck hunt
6 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
7 - Yoshi
8 - Mega Man in the Mushroom Kingdom
9 - Super Mario Bros. 2 Christmas Edition
10 - Kart Fighter

The last 3 are homebrews or hacks. They are fun to play from time to time haha

I'm trying to find a video of the nes. There is a guy around his 30's and he's sick like have a cold or something and his Nintendo reminds him of when he was a kid sick and how much fun he had playing the nes and Mario 3 and other games. At the end the guy sits down and plays the nes. I'm trying to find that because a co worker kind of did the same thing with his nes. Stayed home from work to play his nes. Um no it wasn't me lol

Surprise, I actually played the NES (Classic Edition) today for the first time in longer than I can recall. Had to have put at least an hour or so on Zelda 2, still an unholy pain in the ass difficult if it's not fresh in your mind/mastered. Also threw a few minutes into Balloon Fight, Excitebike, Mario Bros, Kirby's Adventure both with my daughter, and I put down 5 stages of Double Dragon II.

Really surprised just how good that little box is.

There are some great homebrews and hacks of NES games. I picked up a fully redone Final Fantasy homebrew at BronyCon a couple years ago called Pony Quest. It was on all new hardware (for the cartridge, I mean), too, so they didn't have to destroy any original games. I've got another MLP hack, this one of Mega Man 3, that's pretty dope.

I do believe I have seen both of those before, youtube and all that. They looked fairly entertaining for the little girls or brony types. Truth is the cartoon itself is actually all things considered with what passes for a cartoon now is pretty well written and entertaining. I've seen probably 1/2 or more of the episodes due to my little girl liking the show and it's not boring or sickening sweet/stupid by any means.

I don't have much in the line of hacks though beyond anything that was tinkered with on my 2 multi-carts.

I have three Mario hacks for NES and they're all very cool.

The Legend of Zelda: Curse From The Outskirts - SMB hack turned entirely LoZ themed, very well done
Luigi's Chronicles - SMB hack + the hardest game in my collection probably, I'd say I'm above average at playing Mario games and I've never surpassed world 1-3
Super Mario Bros. 3Mix - SMB3 hack that really goes above and beyond to pay homage to pretty much every original series Mario game including the Super Mario Land titles, New SMB, and Galaxy.

I want more big time haha
