Exactly my point.

OK. But what I'm saying is people may have reservations in shipping to South Africa due to Nigeria's scammers. I would. I'd think (wrongly) that all Africa is a no go area due to Nigerian scammers.

That is my opinion.

That is quite a closed minded opinion. One that is inherently flawed. It's like saying. I'm not going to deal with France because 60 years ago Nazi Germany started WW2. That's basically what you are saying. Nigeria is a completely different country in Africa. Africa is a continent with many different countries in it. Maybe you should look into geography and broaden your horizons a little bit instead of harbouring prejudiced views of certain countries due to the acts of a select few.

It isn't me that has views like that. it's the Ebayers apparently. I personally couldn't give a monkey's toss where anyone is from...

I'm sorry but you clearly stated this:

You even back it up by saying

What I said was:

"people may have reservations in shipping to South Africa due to Nigeria's scammers. I would. I'd think (wrongly) that all Africa is a no go area due to Nigerian scammers."

I have no problem with the people there (or where anyone is from) just with any scammers there. So I wouldn't post anything there if I were selling stuff on Ebay (because I don't want to be scammed). Maybe it's a bit of a biased view but I'm not the only one with it.

So you're telling me there's no scammers in any other part of Africa than Nigeria?

BTW Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum...

I do actually like the African's if that's what you're getting at.

I just don't understand what you're getting at. Yes, I get the whole not trusting the nigerian scammers whatever. What it seems like to me is that you are snubbing an entire continent due to a misconception of a few based in one country...

That just seems a little xenophobic and prejudiced to me.

I guess that all parts of Africa aren't the same but it'd still give me cold feet to deal with a guy from Africa over Ebay because of the Nigerian scammers.

If that seems prejudiced then sorry but I have to take no risks. Otherwise I could be conned out of a considerable sum & it just isn't worth it.

And I assume all the African scammers aren't just based together in Nigeria.

Yeah but there's scammers all over the world. What stops you from dealing with them? If I had your outlook on the world I wouldn't trade with anyone.

Not trading with an entire continent is can easily be seen as xenophobic, prejudicial and bordering on racist. I know you're trying to cover your own wallet but it's quite an extreme view to have.

I should seriously be going to the mods at least to complain about being called a racist. I knew you were leading up to it & you've got some nerve. Day damn 2 on this board and I'm being called a racist just for me trying to be a bit cautious. To hell with this place if those are the nice responses I'll get.

BTW I'm not the only one with that outlook. Not by a long way.
