My father decided to play TV repairman once.
Flung him from one side of the room to the other.
To this day I have no idea how he survived. Lucky bastard.

*update*
Ok, so I've gathered everything I need except the JS Technology RGB SCART to YUV Component converter (with stereo audio
). JS Tech does not accept US orders so I've got a transaction on hold with http://www.cable-shop.co.uk while we're working out any possible compatibility issues (and a hell of a communication problem with international mail server's blocking each other's mail). While their price is spot on with JS Tech's, it's still a big investment at around $150-160. In the mean time, I've been sprouting my idea to other local game collectors and one informed me he's already done as such, but in a much simpler (and cheaper) way.
According to this experienced gentleman, an aforementioned system's SCART cable, or any RGB SCART cable, has 3 pins standing for R(ed), G(reen), and B(lue), each accompanied by a separate ground pin, the rest of the pins being for composite, audio, etc. Well, he briefly explained that the SCART cable could have the male SCART end removed and replaced simply with male component ends and male audio ends. He said you need to first, identify which pin wire is which, and combine the R(ed) wire with its respective ground wire, following suit with G(reen) and B(lue) (he explained that while SCART needs the grounds separately, the component signal needs the ground combined to work). Our conversation was unfortunately short as he was to be on his way, but this in turn supposedly creates the 3 component ends for use on an NTSC TV. While that sounded just beautiful, I don't know if it's legit or know the extent of the explanation's validity. Hell, if I had any experience with this, I would just go ahead and try it with a spare SCART cable, but honestly, I really can't imagine raw RGB just magically and so simply transforming into YUV (even though they are relatively similar). If so, I would love to save $160. Anybody have any comments on this? I haven't really dug deep into any forum hunting on this topic.

Re: Highest quality AV mods (Genesis, SNES, Saturn, N64)
Well, I finally got the JS Technology RGB to YUV converter only to find out that it's "NTSC compatibility" is severely limited. Only the NES RGB was processing correctly. Genesis, N64, and the others were just garbage. I do NOT recommend this converter for use in the US, despite guarantees of NTSC RGB signal compatibility.
You can't imagine the look on my face when this happened
Speechless, really
Anyway, from this happening, it appears each console that's RGB enabled is outputting RGB in it's own way. I suppose there was never a "standard" created and used back in the day. I'm thankful the company I bought it from is going to let me return it. I'm still baffled by the RGB signal differences that are so great amongst the consoles. The converter was just not flexible, very disappointing for how "high-quality" the device was supposed to be.
With this said, I close the chapter on this portion of the journey and will be hunting down an XRGB-2 Plus or an XRGB-3. I've seen this device in action, it is a monster of a converter. Imagine no pixel crawl, fuzz, or lag in a 99% emulator-like picture. The device has so many features of upscanning and viewing modes, you can achieve pretty much everything.
If anyone has one for sale, OR KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND ONE, let me know!

I'm looking for one too. Seems like they're out of production
