Since I play a ton of RPG's, that eats up a bunch of my time. For the older games, I am just estimating, but I'm sure I've put over 200 hours in them.

Yeah, I play other stuff. It's because of daily bounties and events and things that I usually play it for about an hour or two pretty much everyday. Even more when special events like Iron Banner is going on.J T wrote:Have you played other games in that time frame or do you just fire up Destiny every time? What's got you so hooked?
I like it mostly for the ability to play cooperatively with other players and it's emphasis on that. Plus, I don't have a PC to game on, so the vast amount of games that allow you to play with friends, I don't have access to. Also, the gunplay is so solid in that game, IMO.

Daily Challengers are why I'm kind of glad that Battle Net doesn't tell me how many hours of Hearthstone I've played.

It also helps that most games I play are arcade-type fare, so no big time investment into those. The only other game that I know I clocked more than 200 hrs is GoldenEye. The half-life mod GoldenEye is one of the games that really makes me wish I did game on PC.

One game for certain:
Card Fighters Clash (ngpc)
I eat/sleeped/breathed that game for an entire week (don't judge me, I was quite depressed at the time; went to my room, grabbed my NGPC and this game and forgot my life until I was compelled to return to it by family members)
After that I continued with a ritual of playing it right before bed (anything between a couple minutes and an hour, usually 15-20s mins a night).
I logged in like 400 hours on that game, plus another 150 when I got the other version so I could collect the missing cards.
No regrets really, it was pretty casual play after that 1st week and I love that game.
Otherwise:
Like you, I have played my share of Street Fighter II (across several platforms). Definitely a comfort game.
Doom 1/II (across many ports)
I have played the original Final Fantasy more times than I care to think (across Several ports and emulators, and playing the PS1 port currently). Love setting special parameters for my quest.
Super Mario 3 has got to be up there as I have the game and most of its secrets memorized.
Maybe a pc strategy game called Master of Magic. I start playing that and then wonder where the last 3 days went.
Definitely a time waster at this point, but I love it so much.
Also time spent trying the get the damn game to work right on an older pc (not dosbox).
Again, regret is not really an issue for me. I play because I enjoy them.
Ooh, but maybe regretting that PS1 yu-gi-oh game. I played that with a similar obsession as card fighters clash. The time could have been devoted to a better game. I imagine I put right around 200 hours into that one, especially after I put it on psp. I have since deleted it for my own good.

If I added up all the hours I ever spent on the Mario Kart series, probably over 200 on that franchise. The same goes for the Street Fighter series. Just no one game played that long is all.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

If I didn't break 200 hours these are still the ones I've played most, at least 100 hours:
Titanfall
Halo 2
NFL2K1
COD MW2 (asterisk since I was unemployed at the time haha)

Oh, yeah, if we go the series route, Street Fighter has gotten a ton of my playtime. Easily over 200 hours once I factor in Capcom vs. SNK 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter IV. And while it's not a Street Fighter game, I've got tons of time in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.Exhuminator wrote:If I added up all the hours I ever spent on the Mario Kart series, probably over 200 on that franchise. Re: Are there any games that you have played for over 200 ho
According to Steam, I have
442 hours in Dota 2 (though I don't play anymore)
951 hours in Civ 5
486 hours in TF2
410 hours in Crusader Kings II
Between original Binding of Isaac and Rebirth, I have 250 hours.
Bloodbowl Legendary Edition comes close-ish with 149 hours, and
Fallout New Vegas comes in at 137, although with how much I played it on PS3, I'm fairly confident that I've hit 200 hours on that game.
As for explanations and regrets,
Dota 2 is a game that I've fallen into twice, putting around 200 hours in each addiction-block. Dota and other Dota-like games don't really keep a permanent hook in me though. It's either I'm hella addicted or I just absolutely don't want to.
TF2 is a very relaxing, feel-good game for me because it doesn't really feel like it has serious stakes, but I get very happy when I contribute well to the team. It's something I've been heavily addicted to at points, but I still play it once in a while now.
Fallout New Vegas is one of my favorite WRPG's ever, and because it uses the jank-ass Oblivion engine it just breaks after a certain amount of hours (50-70-ish) because it crashes so frequently. So to play through it once, and then play through it on two other occasions most all the way through to try out all the DLC, that's like 3 70-ish hour runs, and I don't regret it at all.
As for Civ 5, CKII, and Blood Bowl, I just love strategy games that are complex and time-intensive, but don't require a ton of intense reading. That way I can stick on a podcast and get informed or have a laugh while I feel like I'm accomplishing something in a strategy game.
