What game was it?
Why were you so fanatical about the game?
No regrets, or do you want those hours of your life back?
My answers to my own questions:
I don't think I've ever hit that level on a game with an actual timer set to it, but I would be willing to bet that I have clocked over 200 in Street Fighter II if you include its variants (Champion Edition, Turbo, Super).
I was so fanatical about it because it was the 90s and everyone was playing it in my corner of the world. I also got really good at the game, but always felt like I could get even better. It was sort of bottomless that way. Of course it was best in multiplayer, but I also really enjoyed the AI. I found the game comforting in its own way. It's like pizza. I enjoy it every time, even if I've had a better slice.
I'd have to say no regrets. A lot of friendships and rivalries formed around playing that game and I look fondly on those times, particularly in the 90s arcades and convenience stores during SFII's prime. If I have any related regrets it would be all the time I spent playing SFIV in an attempt to recaptures the magic of the SFII days. But even then, I had fun with SFIV to, so no real regrets other than I was surprised to see my time clocked at over 100 hours on that game.
Are there any games that you have played for over 200 hours?

Re: Are there any games that you have played for over 200 ho
70 is usually my "okay time to beat this" threshold and I could probably list up everything I've played that I clocked 80+ hours on. Not too much. Skyrim I had 130 some hours on over the course of two years, which is lite compared to bigger fans. I sunk in 100 something into Fallout 4 for something newer. And 100+ for Dark Souls 2 and 3 platinum runs. Back in the PS1 days I put 90 hours into FF7-9 each.
I guess the only thing that comes to mind is probably Call of Duty 4. I played it very consistently for about two years straight. I think one of those years had to be around 2008 which was the worst year of my life, but CoD4 kept me sane. I knock on the series a lot since then, but I can't deny CoD4 was a big saving grace and made me happy.
I've probably put 200 some hours over time into some old favorites that I replay a lot. But yeah nothing too crazy for me. I like to beat games and keep it interesting rather than be locked into a single one for too long.

Over 200 hours? Are you talking one playthrough or including replaying a game? For the time being, I'll assume you mean cumulative. Let's see, my list would be....
Fallout 3
Fallout 4
Fallout: New Vegas
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Age of Empires
Age of Empires II
Age of Mythology
Rise of Nations
Starcraft
Star Trek Armada
Star Trek Armada II
Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force
Star Trek Bridge Commander
Runescape
Star Trek Online
Army Men II
Army Men: Toys in Space
Pokemon Pearl
Pokemon Y
Pokemon Red/Blue
Pokemon Gold/Silver
Pokemon Black
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Keep in mind that this includes shit that I've been playing since I was in elementary school. I think the earliest game that I played on here is Age of Empires, and I started playing that when it came out when I was in 1st grade (not that I was very good back then). I used to replay games a LOT as a kid, and my middle school years were spent mostly playing RTS matches or matches of games with my Star Trek clan, so I logged a LOT of hours in those games.

red alert , red alert 2, warcraft 3, quake - lan gaming and constant practice at home.
tekken 3, kof94 - was a regular at the arcades, and still played these when they were available at consoles even though there were newer games.
srw @2, @3, AP - im a huge srw fan. especially the older mecha anime
castlevania , ninja gaiden 2, contra, mega man 2 - my regular nes favorites
contra3, dbz sb2, mmx, sf2turbo - my regular snes favorites
no regrets. except for the PC games listed (other than warcraft3), i still play all of them in rotation of course. i would've listed every KOF, SF and VS game except im not sure they reached 200 hours. as i split my time with all of them in little amounts.
i dont need to have those hours back. they were already some of the best for me
especially the ones where im playing with/against someone.

Re: Are there any games that you have played for over 200 ho
Let's see, I have several. I tend to put a lot of time into certain games.
World of Warcraft (a few thousand hours at least)
Diablo III
Madden 03-08, 11-16
NCAA Football 09-13
Rainbow Six Siege
Ogre Battle (multiple playthroughs)
Shining Force II (multiple playthroughs)
Final Fantasy VI (multiple playthroughs)
Tactics Ogre (multiple playthroughs)
Starcraft
Red Alert 2
Heroes of Might & Magic III
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate II
I generally enjoyed all the time spent with these games, and most rank among my favorites of all time. Don't regret it.

Re: Are there any games that you have played for over 200 ho
Basically any game I was a fan of between the ages of 5 and 16 has been played into the hundreds of hours, if not thousands.
Those include:
Super Smash Bros.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Tales of Symphonia
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Fire Emblem
Pokémon Red, Blue Yellow
Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal
Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald
Pokémon Snap
Donkey Kong 64
Donkey Kong Country 3
Streets of Rage 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Mega Bomberman
Golden Axe
There aren't that many modern games I've invested so much time in. Project DIVA F and F 2nd have both hit the 200 hours mark, as has Pokémon Shuffle, a freemium game I play on the train to work.
The main reason I rarely reach 200 hours nowadays is that there is always another game to play - even long games where I do everything there is to do I don't reach anywhere near 200 hours - I did every sidequest in Xenoblade and only hit 130 hours on it for example. Without replaying, I'll never get to the 200 mark. And I very rarely spend time replaying games nowadays.

Re: Are there any games that you have played for over 200 ho
I hope to someday find a game that enthralls me enough to put over 200 hours into it. In over thirty years of gaming, I've yet to find that one.
I have at least broken 100 hours in two games; Final Fantasy XII and Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl.
I don't regret it in FFXII. God tier game and I loved every second.
I do regret it in EOU. I should have just played Untold on standard difficulty like everybody else* instead of expert mode. If I'd done that, the game would have taken me half as long to beat. Then again, the most gut clenching badass RPG boss fights I've ever survived were in the expert mode of EOU.
*Granted plenty of people played through on picnic mode.
