An underrated apocalyptic drama with a surprising amount of heart and an ending most won't expect.
Ah, you mean the Schwarzenegger zombie film? Excellent, I've been looking forward to it.

Yes, that's the one. People went in thinking this was going to be something it wasn't. I enjoyed the film, but I totally understand why it didn't work for most viewers.

Ooh, I wanted to see that one! Good to hear it's worth watching.

Trailers up for Justice League, Wonder Woman, and Fantastic Beasts:
Justice League
Wonder Woman
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

I'm in the very (I assume) minor group that didn't hate BvS, so I'm not assuming that these will be bad. I hope they learned some lessons from BvS though certainly. Out of the two, I think Wonder Woman looks like more fun, despite having that guitar riff thing that I didn't like in BvS. Hopefully it has that same feel of Captain America, with the old America and superhero feel to it!

Saw the new Star Trek. This one is the closest to actually feeling like an episode of the show. I enjoyed the first movie, even if it wasn't quite Star Trek, and the second one tried too hard to line up with Wrath of Khan.

Lots more special effects, of course. Solid stuff overall.

I watched BvS last night - the theatrical version, since I neglected to fully read the packaging on the version I bought. Technically, I do have the Ultimate Edition on 4K...just no 4K player or TV  ...also Ultraviolet I guess. The 3D version apparently does the opposite, with only the Theatrical in 3D, but includes 2D discs for both others. :?

Can't say I hated it. There were elements to like. I'd say it was just too much trying to cram different takes on the characters together, or include parts of comic series/arcs...with not enough effort spent on making a functional narrative. Being fair, all of the major superhero productions have done the same thing to an extent - Age of Ultron and X-Men Apocalypse come to mind - but BvS is more or less trying to skip past spending a decade+ establishing its versions of the characters before doing an ensemble film.

Part of that is the Wonder Woman movie, which does look like it'll be fun. So, maybe BvS will play better down the road, when the DC cinematic universe has been fleshed out more. Or the 30 minutes added to the Ultimate Edition does that. I wouldn't know.

I just watched the Ultimate Edition and I don't know if this is even worth spoilering, but I'll do it anyway.
I'm going based off of memory, but I believe all it adds are some details around Lex in the goop that I don't remember and then it added several scenes that show the African lady and how she was paid off or threatened to lie about her parents being killed by Superman in that beginning shootout.
What they should've done is gotten rid of the extremely out of nowhere dream sequence that Bats has (seriously, do even comic book readers get this?) and the scene where WW is looking through the meta human files on Cyborg, Flash, Aquaman, and Flash. I loved all the stuff between Bruce and Alfred, more of that please!

It's a bad sign when your dream sequences are more interesting than your movie.

It was cool looking and had a great feel, but what does it mean and how does it relate to the rest of the movie? Not clear at all to me.

Probably to provide motivation to form the Justice League. Otherwise, it's foreshadowing Darkseid for later movies (the alien things are his minions, giant Omega on the ground, etc). Possible that Lex Luthor's behavior is him going Renfield to Darkseid's Dracula or something.

It's not a dream sequence per se, it's a vision. Like Tony Stark had in Age of Ultron to kick all that off.

I don't think it relates all -that- much to the main movie, except to illustrate Batman's fears or to add to the Revelations/Kingdom Come themes.

I know a bunch of you guys are into horror, so I thought I'd mention that at the Rob Zombie show tonight he showed a trailer of his new film 31 and mentioned there'd be a limited theatrical release in September.
