Pokémon is really, really big with children right now (like, bigger than usual). My children are obsessed with it, and so are almost all of their friends. IMO, Nintendo should take full advantage of the upswing in its popularity.Sarge wrote:Seriously, though, I do understand why they're pushing Pokemon hard.

Hmm, not sure what I think about this newest Zelda so far. Guess Skyrim fans got their wish.

I can officially cut down trees, cut up grass, light the bushes on fire, and start avalanches. Hyrule is doomed.

Re: E3 2016
Nintendo never seems to take full advantage of anything. They've just barely flirted with the idea of mobile games. Think of all the money they are missing out on every day. But they're more concerned with telling the consumer that they need some new specialized hardware than just selling them games on the hardware (IE: phones, tablets) that they're using and playing games on daily.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Pokémon is really, really big with children right now (like, bigger than usual). I mean it's anecdotal, but I can't help but think that kids now are more likely to play a game on a phone than on a 3DS assuming it was available on both formats. Seems like a legit Pokemon game on Android/iOS would make a killing.

Oh my Lord, Zelda looks amazing!
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: E3 2016
They can't sell them for $40 on Android/iOS. The second the series jumps to mobile, I think it's doomed. At least as a top-notch portable offering.

I mean they can charge what people will spend. Mobile games aren't all just F2P or full of ads. Square is charging $15-$25 for ports of their old games. If Ninty were to bring new quality games to the platform I feel like people would gladly pay for them.Sarge wrote:They can't sell them for $40 on Android/iOS. Re: E3 2016
The look they seem to going for is nice, but the execution seems a little uneven. Wondering if the NX version will improve on things there, or if it'll get tweaked in general. A lot of washed-out looking soft textures when the flat-textured stuff has hard shadows, stuff like that. Tree-chopping in the trailer looks Gamecube era.Blu wrote:I like the aesthetic. Looks like Link is missing his traditional green tunic, but I'll take it!
I guess we'll get a better idea of things with the gameplay streams. 'course, open world stuff is a pretty crowded space right now. It'd also be interesting to see how actual, not-scripted-for-E3 gameplay for stuff like Horizon Zero Dawn compares.

Maybe...but have you seen how quickly things grow in Hyrule? Trees grow back as soon as you leave the screen!Ack wrote:I can officially cut down trees, cut up grass, light the bushes on fire, and start avalanches. Hyrule is doomed.

Then I'll just have to do it over and over again until the truth is known that in my version of the game, Link is Ganon.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Maybe...but have you seen how quickly things grow in Hyrule?
