So, I was thinking about getting a Game Boy Light.

Before the GBA came out, I use a magnifier/light attachment as others suggested. The light helped, but would also put glare on the screen. The light no where as good as a back lit screen and is bulky adding more stuff to bring for a portable system.

The GBA SP the best for compact portability and folding screen to protect it. The buttons are close, but the 101 (the 2nd edition) is sooo much brighter with back lit screen then the GB or GBC.

Maybe pickup a grip attachment for it? Even though adding to the bulk its not as bad as as adding a light to the original larger gameboy.

I'd go with the Mad Catz one before the Worm Light. The glare isn't bad depending on the angle. It's perfect for Pokemans under the covers, when you should be going to bed because you have school in the morning but you don't want mom and dad finding out you're bunking off playing video games.

I think I'm the only person who liked the worm light...

I liked it, used it quite a lot until the SP popped up. It's why I went for another one for my GBP/Color.
