How's your NES gaming going? What's your NES library like?

i ordered the 150 in 1 (the one that has rockman 1-6) a few weeks back and still awaiting for its arrival. but with it, i feel essentially done in collecting carts. sure its a pirate multicart but i think its the next best thing that is not emulation.

I'm going to just avoid aliexpress and keep an eye on ebay. My personal time vs price and trusting a Chinese site I'd pay like $25 shipped maybe as high as $30 just to get one of those new using paypal and a US seller with that Super Games 150-in-1.

I'd never consider that thing at all if this were like 3-4 years ago, but the filching and crap I'd rather pay a pirate for a multicart than pay a crook thousands of dollars for the contents of that cart because of market shenanigans as they deserve no reward. At least some effort, minimal or not went into making those new boards/chips and the general setup of that 150-in-1.

...and yes it's a bubble, just a very slow moving sticky bubble like molasses. It will turn, twist, wobble, go up and down a bit, but eventually it'll stretch to a point and burst. I may not even care about buying the stuff anymore at that rate, but I'll look back fondly and looking at people whining about their losses and laugh in their digital faces (or in person if luck would have it.)

Jump on this cart while available. I don't think there is an issue with Aliexpress, an international "Ebay" with their own Buyer Protection plan. There is no Paypal option so certainly will not risk an ATM card, I used my Credit Card which has its own protections. After seeing your initial post back at Digital Press, I posted a review. Definitely one of the better multi game bootleg carts.

Nothing wrong with a bootleg cart, a convenient inexpensive option of 150 games selected off a menu. Certainly no resale value, just a nice quick way of "changing game carts" especially for portable gaming such as the NES FC Mobile II.

I don't know if it will pop. Unless we see a surge of video games resurface I don't know if the prices are going to flop. I think it will lower a little or be a starry price in games.
But the inflation for me started in my area around 2006 or so. Since then nes,snes started to go up. Then the n64, then sega Genesis, then GameCube, Saturn, tg16 and now even ps1. Now even my sons friends who are only 12-15 have now bought nes and snes and parents are buying these games for their kids.
Back when I thought emulators would lower prices it didn't just added. The Wii with their vc added the prices. Pat the nes punk, and angry video game nerd made videos to make crappy games or anything they review or anyone on YouTube for that matter has taken part of inflation and also storage wars and flea market finds and people who like us collect to keep the games have inflated the market. It washed hand in hand.
Hopefully like you said it will drop just look at Atari for that matter..... Um wait I know kids who are getting into that now. Maybe I should just give up gaming and collect old 80's toys!!! Nope even that has gone up. That's it I'm just going to buy puzzles and be done with it lol

I think "retro gaming" will be a bubble like any other, and it will eventually pop. I think it will take a while for it to pop, but it will eventually. Just look at Beanie Babies; those things were pretty much cuddly gold for a while, and now they're mostly worthless aside from a few specific ones.

Twenty years from now, I don't think they'll be at quite the premium they are now. Of course, that may just be wishful thinking, but it's better to be an optimist than a pessimist, no?

The difference is the Beanie Babies craze was purposely manufactured to take advantage of the insane collector's market that popped up in the 90's. Comics and cards had their huge bubble as well with that industry overproducing "collectible" material that wasn't actually rare or collectible. They crashed once people became wise to the scam, that their garages full of "Death of Superman" comics and colorful stuffed animals was never going to be worth anything because they weren't rare and nobody wants them.

That's not exactly the case with retro video games like important old comics that people collect out of a desire to collect them, not because they were made to be collectible.

Nobody is flooding the market with newly produced games and saying they're going to be rare and expensive someday. I think prices may drop as certain people get older and get rid of their collections, especially among games that aren't necessarily rare or in demand, but certain games like certain classic comics are going to keep their value or continue to rise in value.

Until ROM chips start to die from age anyway. That's going to be fun.

Fair points, but I also think that it's worth noting that prices are likely to drop, at least a little bit, as reproductions become better quality and more common. Hardcore collectors won't want them, but more casual collectors may settle for the lower repro prices, bringing demand down a little bit. It's all speculation, but you see prices dip a bit when a big game is made available digitally or in a re-release, so it's at least logical even if it may not play out quite like I'm guessing.

I've heard really good things about Mappy Kids. It's a 2player conpetitive plat former.

I can also recommend both of the first 2 Fire Emblem games if you can patch them (such as on a retron5).

No retron here, so RPGS are out.

MappyKids is a new one on me, I know MappyLand. Gameplay makes it look like Rescue Rangers. Adding it to the list.

Joy Mech Fight is great and it the right price.

I never gave Kid Dracula a fair shake, and at around $30 that is a possibility.

Fantasy Zone II is a decent Famicom exclusive, though not Nintendo exclusive.

The pre-orders for the Nintendo AVS are now live. I'm going to pick one up after I move. It's a legit NES, no emulation, that can play all carts including Power Pak and Everdrive in HDMI, has a built in Four Score, so 4-player gaming, a port for a Famicom Disk System, and connection to an online leaderboard. All for $185. Or you can possibly still the very limited one for $650.

I also have that Supervision 115in1 http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Supervision_115-in-1 and it has some gems on it I'd buy otherwise like Sky Destroyer, various arcade conversions, Exerion, Devil World, etc but I just don't see the point (much like I'm thinking of getting that 150in1 NES cart that has Little Samson and friends on there so I don't get ripped off.
