Spring discussion continued...

I found a guide on stretching the existing spring in the Sanwa JLF joystick (found in nearly every HRAP). It was a cinch to do and only took me 5 mins to get the entire stick apart and stretch the spring. The long, Sanwa throw is still there but the stick snaps to neutral much sharper. It is now much easier to chain together motions for fighting games and ships come to a dead hault in shmups when the stick is released. I definitely recommend it to anyone with a JLF installed HRAP.

The stick does tire me out faster now, however. So weigh the trade off before you attempt the adjustment.

interesting - I have to say the difficulties of being certain your getting to neutral is what puts me off my sticks for fighters as I cant consistently do dragon punches cos of it...

I might try this on my HRAP at the weekend - I presume this doesnt work with the EX-2/Fighting Stick type ones does it? - cos on my EX2 I can really notice it not sticking properly when going into neutral - it makes it very hard to stick close beside those spinning cubes in Ikaruga to absorb their bullets without just smashing straight into them :s

thanks for the great link :)
