If you do eBay I highly recommend parting it out and doing Buy It Now listings it ends up being a lot faster and safer since payment is required immediately. Plus a a 30 day BIN listing costs the same as a 1-7 day auction and actually BIN is actually an option with the 50 free listings everyone gets each month.

Great suggestions guys, thanks!

I'd add that within reason you could give a small community discount against what the fair value of the game in its state is against others sold on ebay. They already take a 10% cut, maybe give another 5-10% off? It's enough someone may bite, you avoid the headache, and it's still high enough someone wouldn't be douche enough to flip it on ebay for a profit. You get good bank with minimal fees and ebay headache/fears involved and the buyer gets a discount too.

As far as doing the deed. If you have any games worth around $1-10 range, bundle them, stuff a couple $20-25 titles in with it so someone is likely to buy up the package. Anything else though $20 and up, individually sell unless you find a bundle (per franchise) would pay off like a Megaman 1-6 bundle or something.

Oh and need supplies? Cheapest on ebay for bundles of packaging you'll need, reliable, good people here, get the stuff pretty quick too by all accounts I've read up on. Why blow like 15cents+ a bubble mailer at staples when you can get them shipped for 1/2 that.

That's good advice - thank you! I really need to do some research and start trying to figure out what a fair price is for everything... Ugh.

Here is the break down on the fees

Ebay= 10% for regular sellers, and 8% for Top Rated Sellers (They also charge this on shipping so I suggest doing "free" shipping and calculating it into your price)
Paypal= 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (Unless you are getting payed by "gift" which is free, but gives the buyer no protection)
Shipping= $2.60 for anything sub 8 ounces first class which will cover most games if your using a bubble mailer or really small box. First class also goes up to 16 ounces now with the price steadily increasing for each ounce over 8 all the way up to $3.65.

For the consoles you are probably going to want to use flat rate boxes unless the person is within a 200 or so miles of you.

They changed shipping rates about a month ago, it's up to 13oz now and it costs slightly higher to ship to offset that which is stupid but it does. I used to put 2.50 flat on 3oz/4oz handheld games and now I do $3 because of it.

One thing to consider if you do charge into shipping from what he said there is the FVF but also Paypal and their percent seems small, but it's not on stuff under like $10. When you figure the 30 cents and the 2.9% the lower you get the higher the cut off your profit. It's why I won't ever sell on ebay for under $5 for an item because between both sets of fees I'd rather get $2 at the local store in credit than waste my time posting, dealing with people, gambling against shenanigans, buying supplies, shipping, gas, time, etc. Not worth it. Personally to me when you're in the first class mail range the way I don't bother with the math is I just consider the loss against ebay+pp (with flat shipping) is 15% and it's a fair average to guess off of but with $5~ items it is steeper.

One thing I would NOT do free shipping on is anything you need to calculate the weight on due to a larger (1lb+ size) box where you can't get it into a priority flat rate box especially with USPS you'll get screwed and hard. At that point clicking other services and using fedex (drop off at store) is cheaper and easier.
