Re: Whats the meaning behind your avatar and or user name?
About 10 years ago, when I was in high school, I had a couple friends who were really into anime and got me hooked on DBZ. Looking back, the show was horrible, especially in dubbed form. But when you start from nothing it isn't bad. I even got to the point that I would watch unsubbed Japanese episodes on the international channel. I used basic plot spoilers to figure out who character were, but otherwise I was just hoping for action.
Anyways, there's a character on the show named Mr. Popo. http://100megsfree4.com/abcsofdbz/gallery/popo.jpg
In the context of the DBZ arc of the story he doesn't do much, especially at that time, were they hadn't even subbed through the end of the whole Namek arc. He was just this funny looking jinni guy. I determined that due to being so unassuming he must be the strongest character on the show. One of those "the ones you least suspect" things. So I started taking the name as my online handle. It's been pretty constant ever since.
My avatars have changed over the years. Originally I had a nice headshot of Mr. Popo that I used for many years on the couple of forums I frequented. Then when I got into college 6 years ago I developed a fascination with Amy Lee of Evanescence, and she became an avatar fixture that I rotated every so often as I found new pictures.
Then when I came here I decided to go with a retro avatar, and I figured Metroid is one of the best 8-bit games around, so I grabbed a Zoomer from there.

My avatar is an image from my webcomic SpaceBooger where the Booger takes on Piston Honda.
The name comes from the loose definitions of both words:
Space - limitless freedom
Booger - something unexplainable

Picked it up in like 2002 or so on some anime message boards I was indeed a huge otaku-still am if you consider you can be obsessive (and thus otaku) about more than anime (like games for instance) I'm passionate about everything I do though so the name fits very well.

Um, I like the show Futurama, I'm a guy, and I wanted a number at the end so I chose 42, I sometimes get comments about it saying "Great show, and nice book reference." I have read the book, I know it's the meaning of life, but I didn't know that when I made the username. Now I like using Future42, or just Future as a shortened version of it.

Mine is from the Marvel comics character Rama-Tut, who is also Kang and Immortus due to fun time-traveling stuff. You can occasionally find me as Kang4001, etc. The 4001 part is from an album called 4001: The Stolen Legacy by some backpack rappers from Oakland named Mystik Journeymen that I listened to a lot in the later '90s (when rap was still kind of good). Like most online handles it's grown a life of its own. My wife has even used the 4001 suffix for usernames like it's our surname or something.

My avatar is a little-known enemy from a relatively obscure NES game. I picked it because it's like nothing anyone's ever seen!

My initial reaction to this was to post a picture of a giant penis.Mozgus wrote:I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours.glynnahab wrote:My avatar is a little-known enemy from a relatively obscure NES game. I picked it because it's like nothing anyone's ever seen!
