Yes, it would. It's because the banking community sat around with their thumbs up their asses for too long. I mean, yeah, we could be exporting more and our auto industry could be more competitive and stuff like that, but instead of becoming a more efficient nation we allowed ourselves to be insulated by a bubble. While economics is about 50% imaginary, you have to be careful what and how you imagine. Wired has a nice article about all this.

And to get back on topic. I am on the fence as well, but for a vastly different reason. I am one of those cuckoo folk who still use legacy controls in first and third person action games, I also prefer local multiplayer (splitscreen for atleast two player - four preferably). So these two concerns severely limit the games I can buy and enjoy. So out of the two, the 360 wins out slightly on my two major criteria.

Like everyone said, it really comes down to your prefered titles/genres.

I have never understood why programmers cant just give us the option of programmable controls in most games.

Well...i preordered the re5 360. The gf prefers the 360 controller vs ps3...so she never really got into the ps3...BUT...if we both have a 360...2 hd tvs...SO many more games become "coop". as in...no split screen crap but good ol clan style coop hehehe.

Anyway...choice is yours, but also consider what the collector value of the re5 bundle "could be" in a couple years. I posted on a different thread just about this bundle actualy...google the Biohazard dreamcast sometime and check out values on that lil hunk of history hehe.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

I do intend on owning all 3 current systems, I have a PS2 & Wii (as well as a GC) and a standard CRT TV, so until I upgrade the TV the HD ellement of the 360 and PS3 means little to me.

I'm a BIG Metal Gear fan, and baseball fanatic (lets go Mets!) so the PS3 actually may be the better buy, even though I can get MLB 09 for PS2, as much as the 360 has the edge in amount of games, and the RE bundle being an EXCELLENT buy, even with the so so color, the fact that it is confirmed to be made using the new motherboard and chipset also is a bonus.

Since it is such a toss up still, I may sit back and enjoy my PS2 and Wii, wait until I get an HDTV and then go for the Next Gen systems so I can enjoy them the way they were meant to be played.

I'll be getting Madworld next week on day 1, as for the $399 I could probably also just outright buy close to the entire Sega Genesis cataloge for that....LOL

NHL '94, Aladdin, World Series Baseball, Mutant Leauge Hockey, Streets of Rage, Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, Cool Spot, Moonwalker....and people claim the PS2 has the best collection of games...the good ol' Genny can hang right in there with it.

back on topic, I just played the MLB 09 PS3 demo at game stop and it is a great game and beautiful hardware, although it looks like it is a fingerprint magnet...lol

I recommend getting the 360, though if mine breaks again I will sell it right away and get a PS3. First time it broke my warranty had just ended and it was 100 dollars for the repair >:(. Still, it is a very good system, good games, great controller, Xbox Live Arcade, and the ability to play a bunch of original Xbox games. (the new PS3's don't let you play any PS2 games)
