Hmmm.... I've always heard to keep the unit horizontal. The air vents are on the right side, which becomes the bottom if you stand it up right, so I would think it wouldn't get as much ventilation. And over-heating is what causes the problems right? Regardless, if you have a newer 360 it shouldn't be a big deal.

Some of the newer and more premium games are creeping into the $15/1200 range. You might be interested in the R-Types Dimensions re-make of R-Type 1 and 2, with some cool effects and modes.

I planned on putting the console horizontal anyway. Many of my friends have told me from personal experience that moving the console when a disc is in will destory the disc and leave a big circle in it. I have witnessed these damaged discs firsthand. I really don't want to worry with the console falling over, especially with sisters around. In addition I have an old TV which acts as a shelf too. The thing is huge and I really don't want to put my xbox on the floor.

Alright so I got this baby yesterday and all I can say is HOLY SHIT! The online is so much more painless than Wii. I think I broke my record yesterday on "hours straight I played video games". Now I have a headache though from playing until 1:00 this morning. I think I'll take a break.

Oh yeah, both the PS3 and 360 have online that's heads and shoulders above the Wii. Mario Kart Wii is about the only game that has decent online on the Wii.
