A major step back from Batman Returns, but still infinitely better than Batman & Robin.
Pre-Gossip Girl Leighton Meester (and to a lesser extend her future Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley) stars in this straight-to-DVD slasher from 2007.
Opening with a two white AF gangsta wannabes (who LITERALLY make Hello Kitty look like Tupac) and their girlfriends getting butchered by a twisted version of a fictional fast food chain's mascot.
After that the film follows Meester's character and her friends (and a pair of young Republicans literally no one misses) getting stalked by the clown, known as Horny the Clown. Unlike the much goofier version associated with the fictional Hella Burger chain, he's got a death metal look and a lust for blood. But soon Mackenzie discovers that she and his victims all have something in common, as they all are paying for the sins of their parents, who inadvertently cause the death of a young man who played Horny the Clown in the old Hella Burger commercials (it should be worth noting that his father owned the chain).
I've heard it compared to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" by way of "Happy Birthday to Me".
What can you say about this slasher film classic that hasn't been said before?
One of my faves, and I wish I had the newer Shout Factory release. I only have the Anchor Bay releases from almost a decade ago.
