Eh it's been done better before, City Hall for example.. And the plot is full of it at some points.

I think I forgot to mention that I've seen "Ted 2" and "Ant-Man" some time ago. Both are good.

What a steaming pile of a movie. I could tear apart the whole thing but it's not worth the time. All I'll say is, bathtub torture out of nowhere? Huh?

I couldn't wait any longer so I ended up watching the only Thursday early screening of Ip Man 3 this evening.
I've seen every film worth watching regarding the title character as well as knowing who he was and his significance way before Donine/Wilson's first film made Yip Man somewhat relevant in this era of Asian film and popular culture.

I feel somewhat conflicted with the 3rd and final film in the trilogy. Yen has absolutely matured into the role quite splendidly. Being a martial arts film I was somewhat surprised on how the action set pieces take a back seat to the plot, though i feel this wasn't by any means intentional IMO.
Perhaps I need to see it one more time before I can pass judgement.
But I know for certain I would like to see Yen in the role one more time though it doesn't look likely.

Black Mass

The true crime here is the Bostonian accent  On a more serious note, this is a pretty good adaptation of a true story regardless of the leeway Hollywood allows itself in such scenarios. I even dare say I would start enjoying Johnny Depp's acting again!

I have been wanting to see Black Mass since I heard it was in production after reading the book several years ago. If you haven't read it yet, the book is phenomenal.

Blind Chance

Before Sliding Doors (which ripped this off) unleashed the hellspawn known as Gwyneth Paltrow upon the world, Przypadek did the fate variation trick and is infinitely better than most of Hollywood's similar offerings. We all like to think we have our principles and MO's, but even slight chance can turn all that upside down. Blind Chance is an artifact from a bygone era that will remain timeless all the same.

A major step back from Batman Returns, but still infinitely better than Batman & Robin.

Pre-Gossip Girl Leighton Meester (and to a lesser extend her future Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley) stars in this straight-to-DVD slasher from 2007.

Opening with a two white AF gangsta wannabes (who LITERALLY make Hello Kitty look like Tupac) and their girlfriends getting butchered by a twisted version of a fictional fast food chain's mascot.

After that the film follows Meester's character and her friends (and a pair of young Republicans literally no one misses) getting stalked by the clown, known as Horny the Clown. Unlike the much goofier version associated with the fictional Hella Burger chain, he's got a death metal look and a lust for blood. But soon Mackenzie discovers that she and his victims all have something in common, as they all are paying for the sins of their parents, who inadvertently cause the death of a young man who played Horny the Clown in the old Hella Burger commercials (it should be worth noting that his father owned the chain).

I've heard it compared to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" by way of "Happy Birthday to Me".

What can you say about this slasher film classic that hasn't been said before?

One of my faves, and I wish I had the newer Shout Factory release. I only have the Anchor Bay releases from almost a decade ago.

So Will Smith is upset because no black actors got nominated. I think he's mistaking Hollywood for UNESCO or something? Hollywood thinks black is passé now, it's all about empowering the female warrior now. :|
