Seems a lot of people are upset that the Twilight princess isn't much different looking than the previous Wii version.

Then it would also seem that a lot of people are confusing their memory of how Twilight Princess looked with how it actually looks. :D

Comparisons are extremely clear on the differences.

I think the main reason people have this mindset is, the model detail isn't extremely high in the original game. Remastering the textures and not rebuilding models is going to make that stick out like a sore thumb. Suddenly, because of the increased resolution, anti-aliasing, etc you notice how flat everything is and how much was achieved purely with texture work.

This is a really common experience when replaying old PC games on a new rig. "It looks so much worse now", it's because all the distractions are gone ... even if textures are vastly improved (though they'd have to be massively improved just so the game would look the same when the when running at a higher resolution! Twilight Princess on Wii with component cables was 480P, Twilight Princess HD is 1080P.) Also consider, most people probably played Twilight Princess in 480i.

I think the largest improvements I noticed were faces (likely due to better textures), lighting, and framerate.

It looks much more like an "Ocarina of Time 3D" job rather than a "Wind Waker HD" job.

I just finished up Electronic Super Joy last night, and it is an amazing games. It is $9.99 in the eShop; it is console-exclusive to the Wii U; and if you like either hardcore platforming or electronic music, you should not miss it.

I will write about it a bit more in the "games beaten" thread when I have time.

I can't wait for Twilight Princess personally, because:

A - I actually love it, even though it's one of the least-liked Zelda games by fans. I love the darker and more serious art style, I love the dungeons and the world etc.

B - The Wii version sucks, so at last I will be able to play the "Gamecube" version of the game in widescreen (and HD of course).

C - I was meaning to replay the game sometime. This is the perfect time.

Yeah that's enough IMO for Twilight Princess. Just the fact that it isn't horribly blurry should be enough for people (it is for me.)

If only the plot wasn't so... JRPG-ish and the game didn't hold my hand for over an hour before turning me loose and letting me PLAY.

Yeah, the beginning part is too long and mundane, but once you get passed the first part (it actually took me ages to get into TP when I first got it, because the first part was so boring), Twilight Princess is brilliant.

The slog in the beginning and the awful Wii controls were my main detractors why I quit playing it. I'm pretty excited to give it another go though as my Wii-U is collecting some major dust these days. I'm actually thinking about selling it soon.

I had to have widescreen for my fancy new TV at the time and motion controls were still so new and I had to get the Wii version and justify my Wii purchase lol!
