June 13 was Joan Jett and at the end of June was Weird Al witch was a super fun time!!! I just went and seen Halestorm on Monday, it was a short acoustic set and then an electric set. There was no opening band and they played for around 2 hours. I wish more tours were like that. Also got Sabbath tix for February. :D
Love Weird Al, what was the setlist like?

Yes I seen this. The Missouri shows were already postponed from May and now again.

Well I just got back from my 8th Mushroomhead show. Sucks that Waylon and Schmotz left the band a couple of weeks ago. ''When Doves Cry/Among the Crows'' was cool though. Of course ''Damage Done'' with out Waylon......well the title of the song says it well.

Last Friday I went to Severance Hall to see the Cleveland Orchestra. It's been a while. The pieces performed weren't really ones I enjoyed hugely (hadn't heard them before), but it's hard not to appreciate how awe-inspiring the Cleveland Orchestra is. One of the best in the world for damn sure.

Well should've added these:

Shania Twain(by myself) and Motley Cruë(with my dad). Was great to see those two since it is their last tours(though Shania will keep recording supposedly just not touring)

I went and seen Soil last month and had tickets for Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts next Tuesday, but sadly he passed away yesterday. I feel lucky to have seen STP once and Scott with the Wildabouts once. RIP

I've been to some great shows in the past few months. I saw Smashing Pumpkins do an all acoustic set of songs, which focused heavily on their Siamese Dream album. The material was heavily reworked for the acoustic versions. The show started out with just Billy Corgan on acoustic guitar singing songs, then slowly added more band members until they had the full band for the last half of the show. Liz Phair opened. I was in the 2nd row for that.

I saw The Violent Femmes performing all their classics, plus material off their first new album in 15 years. Every song I wanted to hear them perform, they performed. They had so many instruments their set looked like a music store. They even had this contrabass saxophone that had to be like 12 feet tall. I was in the front row for that show.

I saw Beyonce because my wife won tickets from a contest. I'm not a huge fan of her music, but I like a few songs. Her fans got super excited for songs which I hadn't heard, but I got super excited when she started performing Prince's "The Beautiful Ones" which the Beyonce fans apparently hadn't heard. Generation gap I guess. This was followed by another nice Prince tribute of turning everything to purple and simply letting Purple Rain play. Our seats were way far near the back for that, but she has some very impressive staging that projects images onto a building sized rectangular block of screens that can rotate and divide and shoot flames, so we could see much of what was happening even though the real Beyonce was ant sized from our vantage point.

Last night I saw The Cure performing a huge 30+ song set in Salt Lake City. Robert Smith sounds amazing live. His voice is studio perfect. He also has Reeves Gabrels playing lead guitar now, who used to be one of David Bowie's guitarists. The sound quality was some of the best I have heard and they played forever. It was epic. Tragic Sad opened. I had 4th row seats for this show.

Next up, we have tickets for Marilyn Manson, Buckethead, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and a special night with the Seattle Symphony that heavily features the theremin. Lydia Kavina is performing the theremin who is one of the few virtuosos in the world to have been trained by the instrument's inventor, Leon Theramin.

Here is some video from The Cure show last night. This is my wife's favorite Cure song, so I recorded the whole thing on her phone. You can tell the sound was good because the recording still sounds ok despite being recorded on an iPhone.

I saw the Wailers Thursday night at the historic Beacon Theatre in Hopewell.
Great fun. The whole theatre was dancing to that sweet reggae beat.
