For the most part (granted not much time has passed), I think the general consensus has been that most folks just want to play games and discuss them with the community. No one has come out to say, "the selection process must remain exactly as it is!". So maybe there's something to this? I certainly wouldn't mind. I think the forum staff and long time regulars here are some of the most knowledgeable folks I've ever seen in terms of retro gaming. If this is something that would ease some of the stress of the TR selection process for those most impacted by it, I'm all for it.

Ha, that one was so under the radar I'd totally forgotten about it! Good call. I know very little about that game, but based on the enthusiasm I've seen here my curiosity has definitely been piqued.

3rd Strike absolutely rules everything ever.

I mentioned Dr. Mario as a falling-blocks puzzle game. Someone else mentioned Magical Drop. Both good games...

I've also mentioned Puyo Puyo many times in the past. Great great games, and released in some version on pretty much every console and computer you can think of. (Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Kirby's Avalanche, Qwirks...)

3rd Strike is a good choice.

I also liked Bogus suggestion of Myst or Riven earlier in the thread.

Wait, we've still never done Puyo Puyo? Hasn't that come every year for like 4 years?

On the subject of Street Fighter - II is on even more platforms, so perhaps even more obvious than III. Though again, I do adore III. But either would be a great choice.

Nothing was meant as offensive. I privately shared my concerns w/the OP. He said he agreed on some points and that I should make my post publicly.

It is also worth noting that my first post in this thread at the 24-hour mark was:

I would like the list to slow down a bit though. I like that it's coming together - but it's coming together too fast, as in, I haven't had a chance to really read the thread or make suggestions yet and i'm pretty active on the site - I imagine some others would like a chance to really dig in and not feel like the list is almost done already.
I'll pm you to keep the rest private.

Yes - i'd back Riven. I've played Myst and recall really loving it. Would like a reason to give Riven a go.

Didn't Myst play a huge role in pc cd roms?

I love the history aspect of TR, maybe we should make a new thread with a "Important Games According to Racketboy" timeline. We can then use that to assist for future TR lists.

On a side note, Golden Axe Warrior is the first ever Zelda, or zeldalike, game I beat. Thanks to TR.
