Basically I think they were trying to make it as casual as possible. Which is great for drawing in a wider audience, but blows for everyone who has played a battlefront or battlefield game in the past and knows how expansive and deep the game could have been.

As others have mentioned in their online opinion videos the maps aren't that amazing either just a bunch of open space and trench combat. They do look beautiful to look at but there just isn't much to them.

Think I'm going to see how it handles with a controller today since I can't stand trying to fly with the K+M setup vehicles just don't turn well at all really wish we had full control of the aircraft similar to jets in battlefield.

One thing that would have really helped this beta was access to the tutorial mode or at least an in game tip/hint system that could be enabled. I still haven't figured out all the controls or what certain weapons do in some of the aircraft.

I've been having to reinstall it pretty much every day. The new update must be broken or something.

So looking back on previous posts I've made in this thread, Hotline Miami 2 and Arkham Knight were disappointments, while some games not even on my radar have entertained me like Soma, my current game of the year - Until Dawn, The Order 1886, Life is Strange, and Onechanbara Z2 Chaos. Never really know what games will ultimately end up winning you over on any given year.

The next 2015 game I'm excited for comes out tomorrow, Dragon Quest Heroes The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. The review scores have been strong, with some calling it the best musou style game yet, even better than Hyrule Warriors.

Oh, and I'm having a good time with Final Fantasy Type 0 HD as well, but it's rare that I don't get something out of a Final Fantasy game.

Actually I really enjoyed the Battlefront Beta. The maps offered were unique, and certainly need some fine tuning. For example, the Drop Zone map is too variable on spawning pods. Often a pod would spawn really near another teams spawn point, making it quite challenging to capture then hold until it ticked down. That and the personal shield is totally overpowered, it's a guaranteed initial capture unless you have people within melee range or have heavy weapons.

Hoth is great. You can take down AT-AT's with cables, but it's dependent on the Y-Wing Bombing Runs. I know it won't satisfy the Star Wars purists: I mean, orbital strikes on Hoth by the Imperials wasn't a thing at all, right? That's the whole premise about the Shield Generator on Hoth was to prevent an orbital shelling by the Empire from space. So why is it showing up as a power up and while you're in the AT-AT.

Besides that, I like that the sniper rifle is a one-round cooldown piece, requires you to get in the action. Flight feels better than it did in Battlefield, that's for sure. I'd get this game, but I'm leery of the season pass being $50 on top of the purchase price of the game.

But Star Wars man!
