Re: The Walking Dead tv series
Fear the walking Dead was awful and just exemplified what its parent show is like at its worst while also doing very little to differentiate itself from that show.
On the positive side though, I could stare at Alycia Debnam Carey's legs in those short shorts all day long

I suppose you can say it's as pointless as any other form of TV entertainment
But on a more serious note, where are they going with it? We all saw the transformation of Rick and co into "ruthless" survivalists, and now the world's gone to crap in FTWD, and unlike TWD there's nary a hint of the origins of the infection, will they tell the same story using a different set of survivors? I can see myself losing interest among many.. Heck TWD took us years to get where it is now, I don't want to keep up with another open-ended show set in the same universe.
Anyone else saw Dead Set? FTWD could have been like it: Short and straight to the point.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
Good opener for this season. Not nearly enough Carl (Rick's son), and a bit too much Carl (Rick's antagonist), but overall pretty great.
Was disappointed that a friend of mine complained about the flashback scenes being b&w, but with a story a bit all over the place, I liked the touch to make the audience know you were watching flashbacks.
Seeing Judith was a nice touch, but still, not enough Carl. Having Rick on the fritz is always great (always point your gun at an 90 degree angle), but I miss Michonne wielding zombies lacking jaws and being a silent ruthless killer. I prefer her to be more like Snake Eyes or Shadow Storm, but I do enjoy how the show strays from the comic.
Glenn. I don't ever want to lose Glenn.

Carl the construction guy was written off as soon as he opposed Rick. The writing is getting more obvious each season

I'm not sure that the writing is getting lazy. I think the "Eugene learns" scene served a purpose, and someone usually has to die. He was also part of Morgan once again seeing Rick having no issues with dealing out death without thought.
I'd agree that the writers place balls on the T from time to time, but thank gravy that someone pitched "how about we do thousands and thousand of zombies again?" and the editor said, "sure". Plus we got Daryl Dixon guiding zombies on a vintage motorcycle, Jurassic World style. Well, at a much slower pace, but it did look cool.
LOVE the fact that the cliffhanger is a sound. That's clever. Everyone who enjoys the show is wondering who is honking the horn, and knows who is behind the wheel will be a pivotal character this season.

Great episode, but the most interesting aspect of the episode is something that many viewers seem like they’re missing.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
The premiere episode was very good I thought and very Tarantino-esque, but this second episode man. I wish TWD could be like this all the time. This episode was awesome! I don't even know where to begin. It has action, cool effects, tension, brutal and bloody violence, a scene involving a turtle that was beautifully vomit inducing, and some nice character moments amidst all the insanity happening in this episode.
I love how we saw a bunch of characters dealing with the crisis on their own. It's nice to see who the true survivors are when things go bad and they've got no one to rely on but themselves.
If episode 3 continues on this trend, this will be one of the best 3 episode runs we've ever seen on this show, if not the best. I want them to keep this momentum going throughout the season.

Yes she did say "we" when talking to that boy-who-badly-needs-a-haircut.
It was a good episode, and the oven timer was an original touch. However the way they dealt with the raid was piss-poor. Surely Rick & co. could have prepared them better.
