Could the SS RAM cart have made the system more powerful 3D?

Anything that is gaming related that doesn't fit well anywhere else

Look up Deep Fear if you're looking for another example of a RE2 style game.

The catridge slot was used for ROM data to reduce load times in KOF95 so it was possible to use it for other programming aspects besides save data & RAM. Would've been interesting to see another 3D processing chip used in that fashion.

OK, so, the RAM PAK for the N64 did improve graphics, but that was mostly via improvements in textures. The RAM PAK didn't improve 3D modeling, or give the N64 more polys to work with. The RAM cart for Saturn would've done the same thing for 3D. Better and more textures, and perhaps better quality audio with someplace to store more samples. So yes, the RAM cart could allow 3D games to look better. It just wouldn't improve the poly counts.

And really, in many ways, the Saturn is a better poly pusher than the PS1. Not in all ways, naturally, but in many. A transparency bug and poor audio compression routines hamstrung the system as well, which is frustrating, because the Saturn has a massively more powerful audio subsystem, but it's RAM starved due to lacking stronger compression.
