Books!
Re: Books 2K14 edition
Recently was able to snag my copies of the three books in the Infernal series (City Infernal, Infernal Angel, House Infernal, and apparently Lucifer's Lottery, the last one I don't have yet) out of storage and finished rereading Infernal Angel for the third time.
What Are You Reading?
I just got back into reading, myself. Just finished up Redwall (fantastic series, hadn't read it in probably 10 years), and now I'm reading Stephen King's On Writing. I love him! What a great writer.
Final Fantasy IX is the best one

There was a previous reading thread, though I can't find it to merge at the moment.

Well there we go. Read, reading, and 2014 were obviously failing me in a title search.Pulsar_t wrote:http://racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... ilit=books

Re: Books 2K14 edition
I've been trying to make a conscious effort to read some things that aren't directly related to my own work/writing, and so recently finished up these:

I enjoyed all three.

Reading a book = easy
Writing a book = not so easy
Working title: "Would You Buy From You?" It's a "consultanty" type book that takes on the philosophy of interviewing buyers, not trying to sell to them. The practice is to engage a prospect by asking them what they need, not telling them what you do.
Every MBA program should have a Sales 6001 class.

Re: Books 2K14 edition

The sequel/companion to Scott Westerfeld's anti-vampire vampire novel Peeps, which reinvented vampires as the result of parasitism (which is also attributed to being the source of the myth behind other entities such as zombies and werewolves).
Here, it's about two characters, Pearl and Moz, who meet by chance in NYC shortly after the events of Peeps. During a massive sanitation strike that leaves the streets of New York City piled with garbage and swarming with rats, the two meet after a woman goes bezerk and tosses out everything she owns, including a Stratocaster. The two save it and from there they form a band with Moz's friend Zahler, a street performer named Alana Ray (who drums with paint buckets), and Pearl's friend Minerva, whose condition and bizarre lyrics hold the key to the ever-encroached end times. But to what end remains to be seen! Will their music stave off the end of days... or summon it?
In a way it kinda feels Gregg Arakian in nature.
Can't wait for the movie.
