Re: Do You Leave Your Retro Consoles/TV Plugged In?
Wiiu and Xbox are plugged in right now. My Wiiu is in my main tv area, and is used for netflix and wiifit often, so yeah it gets used four or five days a week. The Xbox is in my gaming area with a CRT, which is only plugged in because of Steel Battalion. Typically, if we are not having people over, the gaming area is completely unplugged.
A couple years ago I bought a bunch of cheap 4 plug surge protectors so I could plug the tv and console into one so there is less stress on the power adapters. So if I am about to have people over, everything can be up and running in sub five minutes. But when they are not, there is no risk and no power drain (despite how little it is).

I turn off my plugs when I'm not using my consoles, but I don't unplug most of them (the exception being Mega Drive and Master System, because those bricks get in the way).
I generally have about 5-8 systems set up at once and switch them in and out at needed.
Right now I have the following set up:
Wii U
Xbox 360
Gamecube
PS2
Saturn
N64
Retron5

Another subject that hasn't been brought up is always leaving JPN 100v systems plugged in on 110v US power. Sure a few hours @ a time doesn't hurt but I imagine over months can't be a good idea.

Power fluctuates in systems. Some areas of Japan have slightly higher power load, for example. I don't think it's a big deal. And a universal power adapter will fix that for anything that uses a wall brick, anyway.

Re: Do You Leave Your Retro Consoles/TV Plugged In?
I reconfigured my set-up yesterday. Right now, I have the following hooked up to my HD CRT:
Atari 7800 (RF)
Dreamcast (S-Video)
Nintendo 64 (S-Video)
PlayStation 2 (Component)
PlayStation 3 (HDMI)
Saturn (S-Video)
WiiU (HDMI)
Xbox (Component)
Xbox 360 (HDMI)
I have a few HDMI ports open on my totally awesome Kinivo switch, and I would like to add a Retron 5 at some point.

The fact that I can't find space to keep these two hooked up 100% of the time makes me feel like a failure as a human being.

Yeah...goodbye NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, and Sega Master System...You have a nice home in my attic, and I hope we meet again when I get a Reton 5.

Oh I'm the same way. Since getting the R5 I only dragged out the Genesis when I needed the Sega CD.
