Re: Irrational hatred for a game?

Difficulty? What difficulty? Maybe I'm the only one who's had trouble with this game? I always remember doing well and getting far, and then being destroyed all at once by something like the Hammer Bros. I also frequently messed up the timing on my running jumps on levels with balancing platforms, ...

Re: Childhood gaming frights! Share your stories!

Nothing too crazy, but I was about twelve when I first played Resident Evil 2... The interrogation room appearance was rather scary, too. I love this game. Get this: on some subsequent playthrough I decided I was going to avoid the interrogation room, go in on the other side of the mirror first, ki...

Re: What games do you think had some stunning art behind it?

Those old Lucas Arts SCUMM adventure games had to have a lot of art behind them. They were my first thought too! I love well-done blocky pixellation. I think it's harder than it looks to pull that off with style. I also remember being mesmerized by the lushness of The Lion King for the Sega Genesis.

Re: Irrational hatred for a game?

I agree with lisalover, CFFJR, and BoringSupreez about the NES. I don't hate it, but the only reason why is this: I was too young when I first played it to be properly enraged by the difficulty of some its games. When you're four or five you're too enthralled with the magic of video games as a conce...

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!

Hello everyone! I've been lurking around the forums for a while, reading articles and whatnot, and I believe it's time I said hi. My name is Emily, and I was a gamer before I could read or write. My parents bought our family an NES in 1990 when I was four years old, intending it mostly for my older ...
