Re: Frontlight mods: Do these things from Aliexpress.com wor
Well theoretically it should work well with both the GBC and NGCP, as both run on 3V (2 AA) and this light takes 3-3.3V. It should be as simple as making it fit, then wiring to the battery terminals, perhaps adding in a switch. I'm not digging the milkiness of the acrylic, but I've gone ahead and or...

Re: Saturn mod chip problems!
Hey, I just wanted to chime in by saying that I'd gone through 3 of those before I tried one of these: m They apparently don't sell them anymore, however, which sucks. I think I was just a little overzealous with the soldering iron, but I was getting those problems off the bat. And I scorch...

Frontlight mods: Do these things from Aliexpress.com work?
Hey all, I've been thinking of modding my NGPC and my GBC to have front-lit screens. I know you can take the frontlight from an old GBA SP, but I found these things here: m Has anyone here used them? Are they any good? 1.4mm seems a bit thick to me and It does state the acrylic isn't entirely transp...

Re: Making a Saturn Playstation PAD, help requested
I have it apart again, desoldered the wires from the Saturn PCB, and am cutting them shorter. Much shorter. I also popped off the Start/Select contacts (dishearteningly easy to do, I might add :/ ) for readjustments. With the shorter wires there should be no guesswork, no acrobatics to squeeze it al...

Re: Making a Saturn Playstation PAD, help requested
Actually, with some twisting, rearranging, and a bit of luck, I was able to squeeze the PS1 PCB into the pad. Stupid long wires. http://i.imgur.com/EerGG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4L0f2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VVss5.jpg But now the Start button isn't working at all. Poop. I think I made the wire break f...

Re: Making a Saturn Playstation PAD, help requested
Wow, has it really been a year? Damn. Anyways, I have for the most part finished the controller. I used a drill with a tiny bit (I think it was 1/16", but I'm not sure) to make the initial cut-outs, an Exacto Knife to trim it up and look nice, a little template I made from the measurements of S...

Re: Thinking of making a multi-console arcade joystick...
Hmmm... thatthat's the same reason I made my Saturn PSX pad. I was kinda thinking of basing it around the 360, PS3 and PC with Cthulu and Imp to cut down on adapter clutter, but yeah, that could work. Any way I could cram both configurations in the same box, with both a PSX cord and a USB B port on ...

Thinking of making a multi-console arcade joystick...
I was thinking of making an arcade stick from the ground up (Happ parts, not a fan of the Japanese style sticks) and I want it usable on as many platforms as possible, so I'm investing quite a bit of time and funds for this. I figure the best method would be to mod a 360 par or stick with Imp and Ct...

Re: Need ideas for a cheap HTPC for emulation purposes.
Well the options are kinda limited, I just like the freedom of being able to, ya know? The lowest wattage I found was 65W, and the Phenom II I have listed is 80W, so it's FAIRLY low power. Lower than my old C2X, that's for sure.

Woo, just looked into it and the AMD processor has two latent cores that can easily be unlocked on that Asus mobo to make her a quad core. I may just like AMD now a little more. Just a little. Their pack-in heat sinks suck eggs.
