Frontlight mods: Do these things from Aliexpress.com work?

Hey all, I've been thinking of modding my NGPC and my GBC to have front-lit screens. I know you can take the frontlight from an old GBA SP, but I found these things here:

Has anyone here used them? Are they any good? 1.4mm seems a bit thick to me and It does state the acrylic isn't entirely transparent.

If these are a no-go, where could one get some of the SP lights on the super cheap? Thanks!

well having done a few of the front light mods on my own handhelds, I would be totally down to try this out! The price is nice, and you dont have to sacrifice a GBA sp, and risk tearing the ribbon cable (very easy to do).

Thanks for the heads up on this, I might pick up a couple for future projects.

Well theoretically it should work well with both the GBC and NGCP, as both run on 3V (2 AA) and this light takes 3-3.3V. It should be as simple as making it fit, then wiring to the battery terminals, perhaps adding in a switch. I'm not digging the milkiness of the acrylic, but I've gone ahead and ordered one to try it out. Probably going to give the GBC a shot first. I don't wanna biff an NGPC.
