Properly repair PS2 slim rear lid sensor
My 12 year old son has a PS2 slim and has really been getting into Castlevania lately and he is excited to play Symphony of the Night on it. However the rear sensor is failing. I can get the disc to spin by pressing down on the lid above the sensor. I would like to repair this for him. There are lot...

Re: Sega CD Model 2 scratches disks
Thanks for the comments. I took the unit apart and cleaned it with compressed air and put it back together and it didn't scratch disks. I tried lots of different disks and played for about 1 hour. So I wrapped it up and when my son opened it he put in his copy of Sonic CD and right away it was makin...

Re: Sega CD Model 2 scratches disks
Tomorrow is my son's last day of school and the last chance I will have to try to fix this before Christmas. Does anyone have any advice?

Sega CD Model 2 scratches disks
Does anyone know how to/if a Sega CD model 2 that scratches disks can be repaired? It is the version with the black spindle ring. I bought one for my son for Christmas and it works fine aside from scratching disks. Luckily I only put one original in and the scratch ring is outside of the data. After...

Re: S-video made easy on my Genesis
I have made one other cable, which works with the SMS/Gen1/Neo Geo, these mirror MONO sound since the connectors on these only ouput MONO sound. You would have to mod the SMS for stereo or use a power base converter, the Genesis and Neo Geo both have a headphone connector in front to get stereo out...

Re: So, i just got a psp
ChickHEN can be used to permanently install CFW on phat PSP and 2000 models. I have done both. I know it can also be used with 3000 models but I'm not sure if it can be permanent or not with them.

Re: So, i just got a psp
The God Of War PSP is the 2000 model and can definitely be modded via ChickHen (My son has one and I've done it for him). The ChickHen hack is just a couple files you copy to your memory stick (Phat models can also be modded this way but you use a special phat file for the exploit). Basically you ju...

Re: So, i just got a psp
The benefits of adding custom firmware is that it allows you to 1) use emulators (GBA, NES, SNES, Game Gear, Genesis, TG-16 among others), 2) rip PS1 games and play them on your PSP & 3) play rips of PSP games. I used ChickHen on my son's God Of War PSP. I only did it once so I can't remember wh...

I've got a couple GBA's. I have the brightest (backlit) version SP but the casing is broken. I have two front-lit SP's and then the clear case original version of the GBA (without any screen lighting). I would like to use the bright screen from the broken unit in one of the others. I seem to recall ...

Re: PSOne LCD screen loose hinge
I took apart the Sony LCD screen for the PSOne and the problem is due to 10 broken plastic forms that serve as receptacles for 10 screws. The metal hinge assemblies seem exceptionally tight and do not move easily (I have to use pliers) so my guess is that the screen got really tough to move and the ...
