Re: Summer Games Challenge 2017 - Begin when ready!
Started Grandia on PS1 tonight, about two hours in, and I'm pretty impressed. For an early PS1 RPG, you can really see a lot of SNES elements, from the music to the sprites. The blocky-3D buildings and maps that the era is known for is in full force, but the story and characters are interesting and ...

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2017 - Begin when ready!
1. Silent Hill (PS1) - Beaten 2. Eternal Darkness (GC) 3. Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain (PS1) 4. Legend of Mana (PS1) 5. Grandia (PS1) Finished Silent Hill today, wonderful game, if a bit too cryptic with some of the puzzles at the end. I played through mostly on my own without using any help unless I...

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2017 - Begin when ready!
Yeah I played Silent Hill 1 for the first time in 2014, it's incredible. There is one puzzle in particular that is completely insane though. It's actually really impressive how well the atmosphere has aged in +18 years, it's still creepy as hell and puts most modern horror titles to shame. I just f...

Re: SNES Classic coming September 29th
I would also like to buy one, but having most of the games in cart form, I don't feel the loss too much. That being said, it's a shame Nintendo is taking this "deprivation" route with gaming fans, all the while leaving a LOT of money sitting on the table.

Re: The PS4 thread
While I don't currently own a PS4, the library of RPGs, indies, and other unique games has me very interested. This system truly seems like a throwback to the days when the RPG was king, and looking at the release schedule for the PS4, this trend is continuing in a big way.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2017 - Begin when ready!
Late to start, but here's my list: 1. Silent Hill (PS1) 2. Eternal Darkness (GC) 3. Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain (PS1) 4. Legend of Mana (PS1) 5. Grandia (PS1) Gonna leave it at five games, as I know Grandia is a long one and I'm not sure I can even manage these. I do have a good start on Silent Hill...

Nice to see this thread still has some life, even after five years.

The first game originated on the 3DS & I understand it's not a hardware power house... also surprised no vita release to hit the handheld market.
Looks awesome so far!
I'm just happy they'll be getting released on PS3/360...

feminist extremism I am well versed in the history and politics of feminism and have written and taught on the subject, so I am curious what you are referring to here b/c usually the label "extremist" is a catch-all term of derision for a movement that people disagree with. What's "e...
