Well, well, well... Aren't we now the very definition of obscurity or what?Mozgus wrote:Hard to single things down to individual songs.

Dude, I'm still listening to Nirvana fo realz. Like, never even got tired of it. I'm still jamming Teen Spirit like it's '91, dawg.
PS - I completely agree.

I love all that 90's mtv shit as well, but I can't really dive into it all more than a few times a year. Also, none of the music I listed is obscure.glynnahab wrote:Dude, I'm still listening to Nirvana fo realz. Like, never even got tired of it. I'm still jamming Teen Spirit like it's '91, dawg.

I have to suffer through the ignorance of co-workers who think of 90's crap like Temple of the Dog as obscure. If I mention a relatively popular band like Fantomas or the Melvins, I'm usually met with blank stares.Mozgus wrote:I love all that 90's mtv shit as well, but I can't really dive into it all more than a few times a year. I'm going to go out on a limb and state that now - after hearing the shit millions of times over - I truly, deeply hate anything labeled 'grunge'. And 'post-grunge' is the worst thing ever. The few bands that I did like from that era have been played on loop on the local radio stations to the point where I can't even stomach it. (I wouldn't complain about the radio if I wasn't forced to listen to it at work daily.)
Forgive me for the little rant. It's just that southern Louisiana is a fucking vortex of American culture, and sometimes it irks the shit out of me. It has become my top priority as a father to make sure that my son doesn't grow up ignorant and oblivious to the world outside like (nearly) everyone else here.
