You'll have to open it up to look. There's a good guide to identifying Saturn models here:(http://www.angelfire.com/pa/Raluminat/saturnmod.html).

Make sure you keep track of your screws. I lost mine. ;P

Last time I checked you only needed to take a look at the buttons in the case (oval in model 1, round in model 2), but I could be wrong :/

You are correct AFAIK. If you're planning to add a modchip you'll want the model two (round buttons).

It's true that Model 1s and Model 2s have different buttons, but I believe Model 3s have buttons similar to Model 2s. Not sure off the top of my head, though.

The buttons are just a general indication though. I have a 64pin chip in a round buttoned case but the chip still worked anyway. The only way to know is to open the case and take a look

64 pin's are hit or miss. some work with the chip, some don't. I had 3 that didn't.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Same. MY 64pin model 2 wouldn't work. Swapped it for my friends 32pin model 2 and the chip worked a charm.

Just try it. IF it doesn't work sell it and buy another.
