Saturn RAM question

Do the RAM carts made for a specific game work with all games? -or just for the game it was made for... Like, does the RAM cart that came with KOF '98 work with all games that require RAM?

And also, will the RAM carts work on any region console?

KOF 95 has its own RAM cart that holds the sprites for the games.
It is the only one that needs its specific one.

All the others (that I know of) can use a "generic" RAM cart.
And the region doesn't matter
