To anyone who has played MvC:Chaos on the PSP

Post by Gamerforlife »

Can I just say how surprised I am by how well it controls. I'm using a PSP Slim and running it on MVSPSP. Now I often hear about how bad PSP controls are for fighters, but I found myself pulling of Ken's specials and supers with little trouble. It is just something about this particular game that makes it work so well on the PSP?

Any other fighters that control well on the PSP? Any I should avoid?

MvC:Chaos? I'm interested if this isn't just a mispelling of SvC: Chaos.

People said the Nintendo DS d-pad sucked too, but after playing a lot of Garou:MOTW on it, I think people just whine a lot. It could just be a matter of certain games that don't make proper use of the PSP d-pad. It's like how SNK fighters I had very little trouble pulling off with an official PS2 controller, but Capcom and Arc System Works fighters practically required a Logitech or Street Fighter controller.

Yeah, my bad on the spelling. I've tried Marvel vs. Streetfighter too and it is also quite playable. Sure, I'm not pulling off my moves 100% percent of the time, but we're talking like 90%, which is enough for me to kick some ass. I even pulled off a classic Ryu air combo by launching my opponent, following him up and hitting jab, short kick followed by a shinkou hadouken. I hadn't planned on using the PSP for fighters, but now my opinion is changing.

I'm playing on emulators though and I wonder if the controls are tweaked in any way by emulator settings. Just a thought. Like adjustments for sensitivity or something like that.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Yeah, Darkstalkers handles well on the Slim, and so does Guilty Gear from the PSN download.
