not sure when we will get 3D acceleration but for now all 2D games are fine (MAME and otherwise). Heres a video (not mine im to lazy atm to post my own) of a couple emulators running.
(edit: 3D acceleration in already? if not who cares quake 2 runs awesome)

ive been wondering about this for a while i know PS3 has the power to run almost anything. ive tried running the NES emulator on a USB drive, i played mario bros and zelda perfect except for it not having sound.
