hmm it is a good game, lack of multiplayer confuses me, but still good... ^^ i wouldnt say its the reason to buy a ds but it is good lol

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.

It's alright. All the sprites are squished, so they dont look near as good as they do on neogeo. It also feels as if all the animations had 50% of their frames removed. It doesn't move as smooth as the other games do. It's good and playable, but this is the DS, so what can you expect?

that almost ruins it for me. Since ive played every other 'Slug game and I was really hoping this would improve on the others, not detract. Ill barrow my friends DS and buy it for him before i decide, besides, I still owe him anyway.

Im kinda not that excited bout it - I love Metal Slug series but the main thing I love is the intricate detailed 2D art, I cant see that that will translate to the DS's screen :(

One would expect video shrinkage on the DS, but there's no reason the animation and sound shouldn't be there. Shrunk graphics take up less space on ROM and ROM access times are generally pretty fast (the original Neo Geo had very little working and video RAM and mostly just streamed data from the cart). Sounds like a botched port.
