To racketboy , a suggestion

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

To racketboy , a suggestion

Post by RCBH928 »

Hello

I was just wondering that, since this site is retro...sooner or later it will run out of reports to write about consoles, because consoles that people actually care about are limited.

I have some kind of a new idea since this is retro , maybe there should be reports to on media-coverage and hype at the time of a console significant life-time (snes launch, dreamcast failure) , including media material like videos , ads, and magazine pdf.

I think it will be great to take a trip back in time to see how exciting sega-cd was supposed to be and relive the moment, or what was the 3DO supposed to be

that's a good idea -- once I guess some more of the guides taken care of, I would like to provide more of a historical perspective.

That's actually a really good idea for a series. It would really hinge on getting PDFs of the gaming mags, plus digging around for MSM articles, promo materials and TV spots on YouTube. I'm sure plenty of forumites would lend a hand scanning what they have kept tucked away, I know I would.

thanx, i will be waiting to see it happening
because i really like to re-live the moments specially on significant consoles like atari and N64 that kind of changed videogaming(how people reacted then to a 64 machine?!?!did they even know what it meant?)

it is also interesting to see what people thought of first time moving in 3d worlds, and using analogue, plus play online, things we take for granted today

I have about every issue of GamePro published between early 1992 - 2001. Not all are in great condition but I'd be willing to dig them out of the basement and fire up the scanner if needed.

Actually, if you guys want to contribute scans, please contribute to the Retromags project.

No use scanning something that's already been scanned :)

Not to intrude, but I had another idea and couldn't find a good place on the boards to recommend it.

Racketboy, I know you have the rarest and most expensive lists for a lot of systems, but could you do an article just talking about the rarest of all games ever? It wouldn't have to be from one system. I thinking about the entire industry. So since the beginning of the video game, what's the rarest to find? What are some details about why its so rare and how much does it cost?

You're site is amazing! Keep up the great work!

This is a cool idea. A few months ago I saw some youtube video's of old SEGA commercials. Those brought back a lot of fun memories. Maybe there are more old gaming commercials out there that could be linked to.

Actually, we put one together a while ago, and we've just been expanding on the idea with the Rare & Valuable series
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2006/09/ ... cting.html

Once I finish up the Rare & Valuable series by consoles, I'll do an updated overall list that includes everything with newer ones included and updated prices.
Values have changed a lot since 2006, so it will be interesting to revisit it :)
