Want to add power LED to SNES mini

Post by Ziggy »

Hey guys. I want to add a red LED light to a SNES mini console that goes on when the system is powered on, and obviously off when turned off. I know it is very possible, I just don't know how to go about wiring it. I know there's mods out there for just about every console, does any one know of a web site for SNES mini mods? I'm sure it's something really simple to do, I just wouldn't be able to figure this sort of thing out by myself. Thanks for any help.

Please be careful with ELECTRIFYING yourself. I'm afraid it will happen. Please don't die. How about letting somebody else do it. Who of your friends owns a soldering iron?

Yes, please be careful with electrifying yourself. Be sure to electrify yourself only the proper amount.

If you know your way around electronics you could use a multimeter and find yourself a 3.3v led on the SNES main board. You can hook up the + side to the LED to it and the - side to the power switch. Just an idea.

^ Yeah, I'm gonna have to give that a try. No reason why it shouldn't work, I just don't want fry anything. And I finally got a working multi meter again (I have bad luck with them).

Now that I read this again, this is probably the condescending thing any one has every said to me.

Contact Zante here:

I've seen his work before and on GamesTZ and he does a lot of impressive mods including the SNES Model 2 power light mod.
