I'm really tempted to add this game to my PSX collection, but the cheapest I've seen it go for was around $90. I always kick myself in the ass for passing up the game in a clearance bin back in the day.
So is it worth it considering I might have to shell out $100+?
So is Suikoden 2 worth the price of entry?

I've considered that many times. I have never actually played it, but I love the fist one. 3 is ok..and never tried out 4 or 5. hopefully it's got more of the original with some improvements. I just can't justify spending that much on something I'm unsure of. hmmm....but it's one of the only rpgs I really want to add to my collection.

I cant justify spending $100 on any video game ever made. The answer is no.

The way I always look at it is if you purchase it and then play it and dislike it just turn right back around sell it again. Most of the time I've been lucky enough to make my money back and the worst case scenario is I lose $5-$10 dollars and I chalk it up as a rental.ott0bot wrote:I've considered that many times. i felt the same way, collecting for ps1 is my favorite system. luckily i work at a game store and was able to pick it up for only 40 a couple months ago, so i will tell you, if you enjoyed the first one, the best part about it is the ability to transfer data from the first game to the second, not only is that a cool feature, the game itself is awesome, i would recomend it, but if you are really unsure, i would wait to see if you can find it a little cheaper(garage sale/thrift)

Regardless of the fact that suikoden ii costs an arm and a leg, it is (in my opinion) a quintessential rpg from the playstation era. It plays very similarly to the first one, but much longer, and a more engrossing story. I paid a pretty penny for it, but I think it was worth all of that, and is probably in the top 10 of all time (for me anyways)

I feel your pain, back in 2001/2002 i saw Valkyrie Profile for 9.99 in CompUSA's bargain pin and didn't pick it up. I would be patient and just keep looking for it in the wild, no game is worth 100.00.

That's a tough call. It is my favorite PSX RPG. If you're the type that would shell out $200 for Panzer Dragoon Saga, then I'd say yes. If you're a starving student, then no. I've had this game three times and sold it three times, only b/c I can't afford to keep it. I HATE that this game is not in my collection. I've played it five times or more already and would play it five more times if I could keep it. (Maybe next time I get it I'll make an ISO and play it on my PSP...)
I have a ton of games listed at my store's site: Super Smash Video Games

I'm with Moz on this one. Don't do it.
With the money you would spend on this one game, you could get a past gen console AND a good collection of games for it.
I'd suggest finding the ISO and emulating.

So I'm listening to the latest Retronauts about the Suikoden series and they mention a lot of localization issues with Suikoden 2. Some of these include game ending bugs. Maybe I should stick to just emulating on this one, or at least pray for a PSN release.
