Can't wait for this game I better finish Fallout 3 quickly. I'm glad its scoring well, Atlus deserves recognition for being different and original. Heres the review http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3171567&p=2

You ****ing right it did.
The Persona series has proven to be among the few worthwhile RPGs in the past few years. Games like Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata and Infinite Undiscovery have been last-gen fodder in current-gen dress.
I haven't played P4 yet, but from everything I've heard, they would have to throw a serious curve ball to mess it up at this point.

I don't have a doubt in my mind that this game will be the same as 3; a glorified dating sim with weaker battle mechanics than an NES jRPG. You people are on crack.
Also, I hereby bar any any bashing of IGN reviews so long as 1UP is allowed to review. IGN ain't got nothing on these fuckers. Their scores are constantly off base with reality, and they very often type up 3 short paragraphs with a stock image inserted between 2 and 3, and they call that a review. What the hell? I do better than that on these very forums and I don't get paid.

I actually read the review just a few minutes ago and then saw this post on the forum. I have never played any of the games from this series, and while not completely apt on RPGs I feel myself becoming more and more attached to them. Best solution would be to buy this for my RPG-akin brother so that later I can play it myself.
I think out of all the consoles on the market this Christmas, the PS2 probably has the most interesting - not necessarily best - games on the market. Persona 4, Yakuza 2, Eternal Poison, KoF:The Orochi Saga and then a whole bunch of Singstar games. Not bad considering that there are only a handful of exclusive games on either the PS3/360.

i would also have to say that the more recent persona games have been the best to come out in a long time, including nocture as well, i think that comparing rpgs of now to the past is a bit unfair, because lets be honest, there is only so much you can do with a turn based rpg, i cant tell you how many old school rpgs start off on your birthday and you going to find your dad or something like that, so as far as the dating sim stuff, i would instead say, its a cool and new approach to a genre that could have died out long ago
