Model 1 Sega Cd

Post by superlarz »

Hey all,
I can acquire a model 1 sega cd unit which includes a model 1 genesis for $10. from the description it sounds like there is a blown fuse in the sega cd unit. how hard (for someone with little electrical and soddering experience) is it to replace or bypass the fuse, anyone have a decent online guide? I am thinking its worth $10 for the genesis and 2 controllers included even if I cant get the Sega CD unit to work.

We were just talking about that! here's a thread http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... =17&t=8972

There's a link to replace it on the model 2 and another linked thread with more info.

...and 10 bucks is a decent just for for the genesis, so why not and fix up the cd and have a sweet classic sega set up.

I'd get that in a heart beat. Fuses aren't too tough, and you could probably find someone to do it rather inexpensively.

Makes me want to stare down my model 2... Model 2, you ugly bastard, why can't you have a disc drawer like the rest?!

thanks for the replies.. i actually found the model 2 diagram after a little bit of searching, wish the pictures were a little bit clearer though. either way, i need a model one genesis, so it wont be a total loss if i screw up too bad, and i can always play the games on my model 2 if i cant get it to work. once again thanks for the replies...
