It better be out in 2009! Seriously, freaking awesome. I actually remembered every one of those locations.

so.... its an updated HL1? Or a mod for HL?

ah... did a little bit of digging. (very little)
. Black Mesa was built and founded on the basis that Half-Life: Source was inadequate as the Source engine port of Half-Life, regardless of the intentions of VALVe Software. As such, Black Mesa was founded to fully reconstruct the Half-Life universe utilizing Source to its fullest potential in terms of art detail, level sizes and code features. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source to play - only a copy of any Source Engine game installed on Steam.

I would really love to try it out on xbox 360, but it doesn't seem like i'll be able to. I never played half life and would like to, as its clearly a fan favorite. I know- HL was meant to be played on the pc. All shooters are... blah blah blah.... I just have a mac. So.... yeah....

Very awesome. I hope valve embraces Black Mesa like the other mods, instead of shutting them down. This one could potentially hurt sales of one of their games, even if its their oldest and cheapest game.

I just hope that 2009 isn't in Valve Time.

Valve is selling HL for 98 cents lately so it can't cost then too much. They should just work out a way to get this on Steam and score the revenue WITH the dev team.

Or work out a way to deliver a simple message like "Buy any source game and play 'The Half-Life Remake' for free!".

Im putting off playing through Half Life 1 again until this comes out. When it drops Im going to my cousins house to play it on his hd projector as big as possible with surround sound... It helps to be a gamer with rich friends/realtives sometimes.
