Playstation Home BETA
I just received an email to join the Playstation Home BETA test, this looks like a neat little social network app, who else got an invite?

Re: Playstation Home BETA
I got into the beta through Qore a few months back, it's not bad but it needs more content - before the 1.0 patch there were a couple of game spaces (Far Cry 2 & Uncharted), items in the shops and other appartments to buy, hopefully they'll add them back in soon. I also got into the JP beta for the Namco Museum PSN game which shows a good use for Home - by playing old arcade games like Galaga, DigDug & Pacman you unlock clothes and items for Home. Hopefully more developers will start using this in their games as it would really add another dimension to the concept of trophies/achievements if you could recieve game-themed items for Home by unlocking trophies.

Re: Playstation Home BETA
Yep got my invite last week.
Day one - tried to connect for an hour no joy.
Day two - took 20 mins but got into the apt after a file download, turned on the lights and sat on a chair, tried to leave apt disconnected following a download
Day three - got on first time, in apt and then out to the courtyard - danced to tune in a line spoke to a few people and then onto the bowling alley, download another file and disconnected.
Been too busy since to go back. From what I've seen it will be good whens its finished but I dont think its coming out this year. Oh well cant complain really theres a stack of good games out at the minute on PS3 and theres always the classics to play.

Re: Playstation Home BETA
just got finished trying it out. i played around in my apt then played some pool and bowling and started random dances. its pretty neat. but it does take forever to connect. id like to see more stuff to do also.
Re: Playstation Home BETA
After running around for a couple days and seeing what there is to do, even after they add content, i seriously do not see people spending too much time in home. Its cool for a little bit, but unless they game themed areas are really different than the main areas, its going to be a bit boring..

well see how much the rest of the psn users like it since its open beta now
Re: Playstation Home BETA
Wow, I just tried it out and that must be the most boring thing I have ever played, almost put me to sleep . Everything has to load for ages so you end up staring at load bars or ghosts most of the time (good thing you can background download some stuff, I guess), the characters all look like mannequins with no character or life in them what so ever and you have to queue up to play the arcade machines or the bowling. Virtual queuing? Wow.
Early beta or not, they'd have to re-tool this from scratch to make it interesting for me, but considering what's here has already taken them around a year I doubt it'll be getting that exciting any time soon. I'd rather just meet online people using Littlebigplanet, me thinks.

Re: Playstation Home BETA
