Destructoid's Aaron Lindy wants to "tear my ass open".

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Destructoid's Aaron Lindy wants to "tear my ass open".

...and other homosexual advances.

So yeah, I got mentioned on the D-Toid podcasts for a 3rd time now. I guess I enraged one of the co-hosts. Here's the clip:

http://www.stevemv.com/storage/Destruct ... Mozgus.mp3

From this show:

http://www.destructoid.com/tonight-the- ... 1659.phtml

Topic is on World of Goo's massive piracy rate. My comment was:
Anthony, if the piracy comment is referring to World of Goo, let me just repeat what I said in that original article.

I pirated World of Goo. Many other people did as well. I know I speak for a lot of us nasty pirates when I say we did not like the game, and we stopped playing it very quickly. If we like the game, we'll buy it on Steam like we do with many other games. I'm sorry, but World of Goo was nothing more than a flash-based web game with higher quality music. It's not worth the $20.
Rev Anthony, the host reading my comment, is a good guy though. He's responds to me on Steam, and even played some L4D with me last weekend and helped me test some commands. I also asked him about this event today, and he basically said the rage is exaggerated for the show and that my point was legitimate.

...eww. He really did say it.

At least they didn't stumble over your name and say it several times. Also, I don't even know what World of Goo actually is.

I suppose it's a shame you didn't like the game. But then again...why should you pay 15 bucks if you didn't like the game?

Also, I would like to say that, even with that high a rate of piracy, not bothering with DRM? Good show on their part, glad they didn't want to punish the 10-20% who paid for it.

Well first off I agree with Moz's statement. A lot of pirates wouldn't have purchased the title in the first freakin' place no matter if they would or would not have liked it.

As well as I didn't even know it was a purchasable game. Heh... I remember the flash goo game and thought this was just a sequel like that one. Kind of like when I saw that stupid game from new grounds (don't remember the name, some little orange alien or some shit, GOD that game was shit) come out on the Gamecube... I was like, k, who'd buy that garbage?

This does not weigh into my opinion of "World of Goo", I have never played the game, and I have no opinion of the game. Nor will I play the game... I don't buy games much anymore. Nor do I steal them.

DRM would have changed absolutely nothing on that piracy ratio. But there's no way to prove that without a time machine. That's the dilemma every time this kind of situation arises.

World of Goo:

Like I said to them, it's $20. They didn't seem to want to believe that. I guess I know more about the game than Linde, who would like you to think he bought it, but I highly doubt it.

Honestly, World of Goo was great in every area besides the GAME aspect. It just wasn't a game really. It's....Jenga. And fuck Jenga. Frustrating waste of time.

Oh and they said my name wrong yet again. It's not Moze-Gus. It's Moz, like Wizard of Oz. I don't understand how 6 characters are so fucking challenging for some people.

Alien Hominid. And it's MUCH better than World of Goo. It's actually a fucking game, with game mechanics.

Is "World of Goo" anything like the original in Flash? If so, it has game mechanics. I'm assuming yes because I remember it being a lot like Jenga... where you have to build a tower out of goo and counterweight it and stuff to keep it from falling. It's a puzzle game, Jenga is a game as well, so your comparison to Jenga is kind of counter-productive.

Is it a "good game", well that's just opinion. I "think" Alien Hominid (yeah that's the one I was thinking of) is a shit game that can't even compare to side scrolling run and guns from the early 80's. But that's just opinion.

I'm not saying DRM would have changed anything, I mean the stance of the two guys to say "We wouldn't have put it in anyway and we won't in the future" is admirable, because all they would be doing is punishing those who did buy it.

Yeah I know what you meant. Wasn't arguing with you.

Haha, well what more can be said? We're opposite. Goo just doesn't seem to have any structure to it, pun intended. The game is so much about pure luck, and I just feel no reason to make progress in it. And the controls were fucking terrible. Whatever jackass decided it would be a good idea to use mouse position for both goo aiming as well as camera movement needs to gtfo. You would move the cursor to drop a goo on a position and the camera would just ZOOM past the spot and you'd completely miss.

I can only wish that I had your ability to enrage the people of the internet like this, "Moze-gus".

Do your real life acquaintances suffer from random head explosions when you voice your opinions?

It's not really that hard to do...

directions to make people want to kill you on the internet

1) go to public forum of some sort... the more well known the better.

2) have an opinion. Any opinion, it just has to be an opinion.

3) say it, say it with confidence and don't let anyone tell you that you're wrong because well... it's a fucking opinion!!!

4) just sit back and wait

I've found that the more you post the more people think you are "worked up" and get even more buggered about your presence. When in actuality, you aren't really all that angry. You just aren't afraid to say more then 4 words.
