Must haves?

So, my ps3 is...almost here, its sitting somewhere between VA and PA. Being the gamer i am...i have already went out and gotten 2 games before the system is even here....little big planet and my all time fav sony title, hot shots golf.

But here is my question, i know the 360 has all these great japan titles, and i ALMOST got a japan 360...but, i wanted my ps3 back, SO...are there any MUST HAVE titles on the ps3 over in japan that we dont have? Or soon to be coming to japan that we dont have?

I'd like to know this too. I'm always interested in import gaming, but there is a SERIOUS lack of info on the net regarding import gaming(aside from this one). Either that I'm just look in the wrong places. I can't even find a decent site that covers regional differences in games.

I haven't been really following the PS3 import scene, so I can only speak from the games that I actually have.

Disgaea 3 is a fantasticly fun strategy game. You can get through the main game in a reasonable amount of time, but the meat is the postgame uber grindage. Like, level 9999 grinding, and billions of damage. It's also got a lot of self-referencial humor to both video games and anime, and the main storyline even has things like a mid chapter commercial break, as well as a "On the next episode" segment, which is always silly.

Rock Band is a must have. Nothing more needs to be said.

Eternal Sonata has been a pretty good JRPG so far. It's got pretty much all of the JRPG standards, so it's one of those "If you liked FFX you'll like this one" type of games.

It hasn't hit yet, but Valkyria Chronicles is shaping up to be a fantastic strategy game. The demo can be obtained from the PSN, and I recommend you give it a try. Do the turortial first, though, as the game is quite different from the standard SRPG.

i saw Disgaea 3 tonight and i knew it was a japan title...but is the one in bestbuy in english? O.o

Also i know the 360 has a long list of shmups coming out...anyone know of any coming out for the ps3? Not out now BUT...COMING out..?

Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer was suppose to come out on PSN. Either a few weeks ago, or in the near future. Either way, there doesn't seem to be much fanfare behind it.

Yup, it was localized by Nippon Ichi's NA branch.
