Any one else dissapointed in the new Indiana Jones film?

Post by raztat »

I just got done watching it and it was horrid. I feel asleep during the talking in the tent. Then the ending....ALIENS? Wtf? Also used way to much CGI. This film left a bad taste in my mouth, the first three are epic but this, this is garbage. Did it do well in theaters?

To be honest I thought it was better than the travesties known as the Star Wars prequels.

I enjoyed the First prequel, the second and third were ok. It seemed like they mixed ET with Indy in this film.

Definitely no comparison to the originals...however as ridiculous as the aliens were...i enjoyed the adventure of it. The story cant hold up to raiders of the lost ark, or the last crusade. Whenever there was action though, there was quality action to be had.

I went in expecting nothing and rather enjoyed myself. Its pretty amazing how much you can enjoy a film that way.
Actually it's like anything. If you expect the world of it, you're bound to be dissapointed.
Overall I thought it was a little hokey but then again, I watched 1~3 before seeing it and then again, those are pretty hokey too but, they're cool~

yep - terrible.

I thought as I watched it -- and heard others say it later -- that it played out like a video game. The sequencing of it was something like a Half-Life game when you think about it. They just kept moving forward and going until they came upon the next place. In Last Crusade they had to actually decipher clues to get where they wanted, which resulted in a little thing called a plot.

In this one they just go through the camp, through the jungle, through the on-rails jeep scene, down the river, over the waterfall, into the skull cave, through the tunnels, up the temple, down the hole through the platforming sequence and into the boss chamber where they use the key item to unlock the alien puzzle and beat the game, er ... I mean, end the movie.

And the crystal skull looked like something you'd buy at Spencer's Gifts in the mall. Cheesy all around.

I rather liked the movie. To be honest the aliens isnt the most preposterous story. Really the last crusade was (really theres a temple for jesus in egypt where there are buzzsaws come on now)

Its a movie dont take it too seriously. It really is a decent movie it just doesnt hold up to the temple of doom or raiders.

It's a trend in recent years to dust off old movie franchises, and old actors.

Other examples?

Rocky, Rambo, Die Hard, and probably a whole bunch more that elude me.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
