Games are a waste of time.
Games are a waste of time.
I hate when I hear some one say this. My girlfriend said this to me tonight. Saying its a waste of time is like saying life is a waste of time cause in the end it doesnt matter that you beat every mario game ever made. This also implies tv is a waste of time, movies are a waste of time, books are a waste of time, any hobby that any one does is a waste of time. Does any one else feel the same way about this? or am I the only one?

All work and no play....
Most TV is the biggest waste of time -- at least the way most people consume it -- just keeping it on whether there is something good on or not.

Re: Games are a waste of time.
Video games are the most misunderstood artform along with comic books. So sad, but true. Both mediums do things that others can't.
Example: take literature: great stuff, right? And the visual arts: fantastic, no? Put them together, and what do you get? A perfect mix of abstract and realistic art forms, along with the undocumented imagination that takes place between panels (Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud ought to be required reading). Then you have video games: the only art form which can simulate life itself, in its most perfect examples, meaningfully composing a whole new life for you to live, so exciting that one could only wish to live it (Panzer Dragoon Saga ought to be required gaming).

I believe it was Bertrand Russell who said "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."

It's all a waste of time since we're all going to die anyway.
I have a ton of games listed at my store's site: Super Smash Video Games

"Blank" is a waste of time.
One of the most childish, ignorant statements a human can make. Since no one knows why we're here, no one has any authority to pass judgement on how anyone spends their time.
On the flip side, even if videogames(and nearly everything else we do) ARE to be considered "a waste of time", then it seems that THAT has been the goal of the human race all along. In the beginning we were hunters and gatherers, just trying to survive each day. We evolved, became "civilized", developed societies, microwaveable burritos...All towards what end? To have as much free time as possible to do whatever we damn well please.
Or maybe your girlfriend's just a bitch and doesn't respect your interests? (j/k, no offense!

It really is a waste of time.
But hey, I like wasting time.

Hmm your girlfriend said this too you ehh?
Lets try and translate this
Games are a waste of time= You pay more attention to your video games than me.
Have fun with that
Best thing is not to find something she does and say its a waste of time because yeah its gonna get more ugly

Re: Games are a waste of time.
I really hate that women in a relationship just throw this "'blah' is a waste of time" and expect us to just bend to it. Yet if we turn round and say anything that they do as a waste of time, that's it, there's a serious problem in the relationship and that somehow we don't love them and they think we hate them.
Man I hate women sometimes. Sometimes I ponder if celibacy would really be the solution to all my problems...
Or maybe I'm just eternally grateful my fiancée enjoys playing video games with me.
