Eating Chips and Soda while console gaming?
Do you snack on things while you are gaming?
If so, how do you do it without getting the controller/fingers greasy/cheesy?

Drinking isn't as much of an issue.
Chips and pizza or other horribly greasy food I try to stay away from normally let alone when I'm playing games.
If I do have to eat at the same time I don't use my good controllers.

I have a real sweet tooth so I tend to gravitate toward candy. I can't stand crumbs and grease anywhere near my controllers and/or systems, so I avoid those.
I also don't play action games when I eat b/c too much attention is required and it's hard to take your hands away from the controller, especially in multiplayer. I much prefer to have a nice bag of candy next to me while playing a turn based game like Culdcept or while doing some PC gaming.

I used to have a very effective solution to the Grease Problem. All you do is get a clean cloth towel or rag, Soak it in hot water and put some liquid dish soap in it. Lather it up nice, and ring it out so it just remains damp and not drippy or sudsy. Place this next to you, on a plate, table or wherever. After you slam some chips, wipe your hand across the towl, grease is gone. If dampness bothers you as well, just put a dry rag next to it. Works well!
But I agree with most of the other posters here. Greasy food is best avoided during games for health reasons (other times too of course). We really don't watch quantity while gaming. However, usually when people are throwing down the snackums its during a party, and everyone is doing it. It probably is just best to wipe down the controllers after wards. As long as you clean your controllers regularly (and you should, hands are filthy), grease won't damage it.

Only time I really eat while I game is when I'm playing a non-action game. I use one hand for the food and one for the controller. What can I say, I play a lot of RPGs.
I have a ton of games listed at my store's site: Super Smash Video Games

Microwavable burritos, and a big glass of sweet tea. Trust me. Works wonders.

Im extremely pedantic about that haha
Ill only drink a nice cup o' tea and maybe have some biscuits but NOTHING with any form of grease in it when I'm gaming (that includes hi-butter biscuits (like Scottish Shortbread or oat flapjack type biscuits etc.)) fortunately as I'm a father now there are always baby-wipes at hand if any stray lipids should get on to my controllers

'In the end it didn't work out. It was tough, but those were great days and I've never met anybody who regretted buying a Dreamcast.'

i used to eat Chinese and pizza while playing counter strike, delta force 2, and diablo 2 online. Now I may eat some candy but I usually eat before I game.

I usually drink sodas or water while gaming, but eating is a big no-no. I also wash my hands before gaming, and my controllers are super clean because of it.
